It's unfortunate because it is building such a wave of enthusiasm, that if it ends up being anyone other than Gruden, there will be a slight undertone of disappointment.....which will be unfortunate and unfair to that coach. That being said, I REALLY hope Gruden comes to UT. What a game changer for recruiting that would be.

I don't know much about John Gruden honestly.

I have followed Jon gruden since he was a ga at UT , when he was at the raiders his work ethic was 14 hour days, the raiders were the most penalized before he came and one of the least when he left, he took them from the bottom back to Super Bowl contenders! al Davis was why he left! IMO
He went to Tampa and won a Super Bowl for them! Then the owners got tight and tied his hands, now a very knowledgeable broadcaster, like him or not he is football smart and very very strict and demanding as a coach, he also won't let his team lose he is a helluva a coach!

Just noticed this, coming in at #1: John Gruden Rumors.

Thought it was interesting. I'm as hopeful as anyone, but are we setting ourselves up for a massive disappointment if this doesn't happen?

Mods, merge if necessary...

The meltdown will be legendary if we don't land him. Surely we've had some good contact with other coaches. I'm a big believer in not putting all the eggs in one basket.

Sounds like just what the doctor ordered...after Dooley's undisciplined coaching style

Embarrassingly and unfortunately, you (and I) represent an ever-shrinking minority.

Hey, we have a lottery ticket. Chances are not good for the win, but we ALWAYS think we will. Please Chucky, let us cash in our winning ticket!

I'm gonna throw a name out there and tell me what you think Chaney/sunseri 2013 Petrino on special teams IMHO

Have you even been watching the games? Chaney,Sunseri? Petrino is a POS. I think Hart and the next coach will fire both Chaney and Sunseri. Petrino wouldn't even be considered.
