It's a little different. There was at least some smoke there, IIRC, even if it was all crap. If Meyer took this job, it would basically mean he was lying about his health issues, wanting to spend time with his family, and anything else he may have said.

Fair point. I just feel the actual odds of both situations are/were the same. Although, I will admit the nature of the circumstances are much different.

You're probably right. Maybe the situation with Gruden could have turned out differently if he knew he was going to get fired.

Yes. I don't see any reason a sane coach would take the job until they know what the NCAA issues are.

Cause Meyer wouldn't say he was leaving to spend time with his family and then change his mind.

i like this kind of argument. You say, well, if Meyer takes this job that means he was lying. You actually want him to take it so you can say it proves what you want to be true. Pretty weak, imo.

So let me get this straight. You believe someone who just left the Florida job because the stress, health problems, and for a desire to spend time with his family would really take what could turn out to be a very difficult job if there are serious sanctions?

My aunt is a graduate of Ohio State's Law School and knows several people up there. Take this with a grain of salt but she is saying that there is only one name even being mentioned up there, and it's Meyer.

Thank God Joker Phillips name hasn't been mentioned as Tressel's replacement....UK is safe
