Is going to be a stud for years to come, the guy is talented. I was hoping he'd stay on the front row though, hopefully the Wood Brothers can put together a full season of sponsorship so he can run both Cup & NNS schedules full time. If I was David Ragan I better be hoping I knock off JJ and win the championship or he'll be out of a job next year. Its a shame Trevor can't get sponsorship on the NNS side.

I remember listening to him on the "Dewey Warren Show" in middle school on my way home. It was mostly football, but they had a Nascar segment on with him one day. He had got out of school early that day to be interviewed. We shared the same living location, the same age, and same first name. Ever since that day I've followed his success.

I remember playing paintball with him and having chemistry class together, lol. So weird that he's all over ESPN now, but really cool too.

She didn't have a lot of choice. She would have had to give up control of DEI to keep him.

Yeah, but half a company with Jr driving for it and having his name all over it would have made her a heck of alot more $$$$ in the long run. She ended up selling almost half of the company to Ganassi anyways.

Good ole 20x20 hindsight, although I have to admit the future wasn't too obscure.

seems like a really good kid. hope it works out for him.

He was on some pre-race program right after David Pearson who was so successful in the 21 car in very similar livery. Interviewed by DW, K. Petty, and Mike Joy, he was poised, articulate and gave good answers. They asked about him hooking up with Gordon in the 150, and he said Gordon came up to him at driver intro and said let's go get them. He said the only thing that made him nervous was qualifying. In the 150 his only concern was messing up Gordon, since Jeff didn't have to even finish the race.

I casually followed Nascar before, but never had a driver I pulled for.

I think I found my dude.

Way to go Trevor!

So....

I suppose he can't go back and amend his application? I;m guessing he'll be able to run a full season on the Sprint Cup schedule now.

If the Wood Brothers pick up sponsorship they should, I bet WBR is hating it that they'll lose him next year.

Trevor Bayne has to be on top of the world. He not only gets praises by Jeff Gordon and works with him, but he wins the Daytona 500 in his first attempt! Happy for the guy!

Awesome! I'm a Edwards fan so I'd be lying if I said I wasn't hoping he would win, but I was pulling for Bayne too. I was pretty torn for that last half lap.

Congrats T-Bayne!!!
