He can switch to cup status, but won't receive any cup points. However, he can retain the win in case he somehow manages to get in the top 20 if he makes the switch. This will never happen unless he shocks the world again within the next 2 races, though.

Trevor reported that Waltrip told him he couldn't give him a full-time NNS ride for 2011... word got out and R-F offered and he accepted. When he returned to the Waltrip garage after the weekend, his seat had been removed from his car and they were fitting for a new guy. Really classy, Michael. Trevor took it like a man, much more of a man at 19 than MW is, IMO.

So, he signs with Rousch, drives Pierson's No. 21, a Wood Brothers racer which is actually a car owned by Richard Petty. What a weekend!

This is pretty much correct. But, Trevor did have a clause in his contract that allowed him to opt out of his contract if he wasn't funded full-time.

Trevor will be on TBS at midnight tonight with George Lopez. He will also be on NBC with Ellen tomorrow morning.

Winder man part of winning Daytona 500 pit crew
Josh Shipplett is the son of one of my good frinds that I use to work with. I didn't realize that he was the front tire carrier for Trevor Bayne's Cup ride. He is also on the pit crew for Carl Edwards nationwide team. I knew he was still in Charlotte and was with Menard's nationwide team last year but hadn't talked to my buddy since the start of the season to see where he landed this year.

Looks like Trevor and the Wood Brothers have a sponsor lined up for the All-Star race. They didn't plan on entering it and was only going to focus on points races but I'm glad they are, Len Wood said Charlotte Motor Speedway and Ford wanted them in the race.
