If it goes bad, you will say it's because of Obama. If it goes well, you will say it's despite him.

Libya's liberation: interim ruler unveils more radical than expected plans for Islamic law - Telegraph

Mustafa Abdul-Jalil, the chairman of the National Transitional Council and de fact president, had already declared that Libyan laws in future would have Sharia, the Islamic code, as its "basic source".

But that formulation can be interpreted in many ways - it was also the basis of Egypt's largely secular constitution under President Hosni Mubarak, and remains so after his fall.

Mr Abdul-Jalil went further, specifically lifting immediately, by decree, one law from Col. Gaddafi's era that he said was in conflict with Sharia - that banning polygamy.

In a blow to those who hoped to see Libya's economy integrate further into the western world, he announced that in future bank regulations would ban the charging of interest, in line with Sharia. "Interest creates disease and hatred among people," he said.

legal polygamy and no-interest loans, sounds good so far. wonder if it'll end up with throwing acid in schoolgirls' faces and executing who convert away from Islam?

I suppose we can go topple all of the gov'ts in the Middle East to help Iran establish another Islamic Caliphate. Won't that be grand.

We won't really know what kind of governments and laws they'll put in place until after they've done it (kinda like healthcare). Based on past history I wouldn't hold out too much hope, but every law in other countries doesn't have to be like it is here. I don't understand the complaint about polygamy. If you stand for freedom, I don't see how anyone would care. I am curious how long the no interest (fee'd since they don't believe in interest) low value loans will survive.

Have yet to see the watchdogs in the MSM put out the cost of the war talking point. No wonder we don't get to see it daily around here.

You mean Libya? Heard repeatedly on main stream media channels over the weekend it was approximately $1 billion.
