IDC if they were nicknamed the starting 5 or not, best oline was that of 2 years ago when cedric Houston and Riggs both had a combined 2,250+ yards. Any line that can block well enough for those two to get that many yards has to be a great line.

The only player off thaf offensive line who got drafted in the NFL was scott wells in the 5th round I think. Hardly the best offensive line ever.

the 1995 OL with Bubba Miller, Jason Layman, Robert Poole, Leslie Ratliffe, Jeff Smith and Trey Teague was pretty talented group, though I doubt if any one of them could be old enough to have a child on the current roster. That has to be Cameron Mayo's dad Bill Mayo who played with Lee North, Tim Irwin, David Douglas plus Steve Knight who played for many years in the NFL as did Curt Singer. Bruce Wilkerson probably played with this bunch if he played as a frosh or soph.

I don't remember the year, but one seaseon the O-Line was promoted as the "Power Line" or the "TVA Power Line".

Tennessee Valley Authority, and I want to say it was 1990 with Charles McRae, Antone Davis...having a hard time remembering who the other guys were though. Maybe Tom Myslynski?

Darryl Smith's son is one of our incoming freshmen. So you are talking about a team at least in the 1980s.

The "Sugar Vols" O-line in 1985 was known as the Tennessee Valley Authority. The starters were Darryl Smith, John Bruhin, Harry Galbreath, Bruce Wilkerson and Todd Kirk

I knew some one would hit it. i hope mayo's son is 1/2 as good as he was

The TVA Line was the line that help phil earn his name as a o-line coach

I looked it up and now know who was 1st on the 200 yard rushing game. I can't believe it did not happen before then though. For the puntner it must've been Clabo or someone with Colquitt for a last name.

No. Think late seventies, early eighties. It is pretty darn obscure.
However, Widby did play for the Cowboys. He played considerably longer than your question called for.

I apologize for any misdirection. It was not intended. Hat, where in the world do you store all of this memory? My head is full of useless song lyrics and movie lines.

In trying to find that answer I was reminded that Danny White was the QB and Punter for Dallas for several years. Imagine trying to do that with a starting QB, or even a backup, now.
