Troy's Offense Will...

Total Offense Ranks (NCAA FBS)

NC St - 49th
Akron - 42nd
UF - 100th
UGA - 25th
USC - 86th
Bama - 41st
MS St - 66th

Upcoming:
Troy - 26th
Missouri - 111th
Vandy - 85th
UK - 117th

One could argue that UF, UGA, USC, Bama, and Miss State have lower ranked offenses because they play some of the best defenses in the country in the SEC.

I don't put too much weight on the Akron game. All that matters is we woke up and got it done.

It is so embarrassing to set here and talk about how Troy will run and pass all over us and possibly beat us. I remember not long ago when we were playing Florida State, Miami, Notre Dame, and other championship contenders and handling them or at least giving them a game. Now we are contemplating a loss to a team from the Sun Belt, oh how the times have changed.

WHO is contemplating a loss to a Sun Belt team ... you? Last I heard we were a 20 point favorite.

Do you not concede that we were "at least giving them a game" (to use your own words) to Georgia, Florida and SC?

Look for the defense to "improve" not so much because they are "getting it" but because they will be playing way less talented people this weekend. If Sal gets them to give effort and O doesn't give them short fields on TO's Men of Troy only get 20 or less points. Vols 40+

Does anyone who really follows college football believe Troy has a better offense than Bama? or anyone else on your list for that matter.

You act like holding them to less than 30 points would be impressive. Then again, for our defense that might be quite an accomplishment.
No. OP was saying 35 points and others that they'll run amuck against us.

I see a mediocre sunbelt team that put up good numbers against bad defenses.
They've played against 2 good ones and one of those didn't show up.(M st)
Their oline is suspect, has given up 12 sacks to those bad defenses.
McCullers will have their center sitting on their running backs and Sentimore will have a sackfest.
It is sad that we're talking about being competitive with a sunbelt team, but that's where we are.

I never said that Troy had a better offense than Bama. I do acknowledge that SEC offenses are generally ranked lower because of the defenses they have to play. That post was just a response to the person that said to look at the teams that have made UT's defense look bad. Statistically, very few of those teams have great offenses. If you look at my other posts in this thread, you will see that I think UT beats Troy by a couple of touchdowns. However, it will be a shootout, Troy will put up points, and UT's D is historically bad (and not a victim of a bunch of powerful offensive teams)

Well at least we are at home, oh wait we don't play well at home, but we win a close one 42-38 in last 2 min

Our defensive scheme will be to let them score until they get tired of scoring. That said we should still kick their ass.
