First thoughts would be:

The Iliad

So, the point of this article is that every story has a major dilemma, and the dilemma in the Odyssey is that Odysseus is just trying to return home. In Gladiator, Maximus only wants to get home to work on his fields, so this idea is "borrowed" from the Odyssey, and is "unoriginal". Planes, Tranes, Automobiles, and Due Date, and the Hobbit and many other movies/books incorporate this theme of an incredible journey where the ideal resolution for the protagonist is to make it home.

Episode 2 was pretty solid, I thought. I'm liking this season a lot better than last season. I'm not completely sold on the guy from Law & Order as the Authority honcho - he just reminds me too much of the guy on the Weather Chanel. Otherwise, it's looking pretty good.

Favorite story lines?

Mine is the werewolves. The wolf puppy in PJs was a little much, though.
