I grew up in one of the adjacent counties to the one in question (I'm trying not to say the county) and they did a big study up there when I was a teenager. It got pretty funny as the Johnson City Press Chronicle kept dancing around the cause when they would report on the activities. Guess you call that the family bush instead of a family tree.

There was a well-known sheriff's deputy up in the county seat. (We belonged to a swim club in the county seat so we were up there frequently. It was the 60's, you would often drive 25-30 miles for a good pool. Boone Lake was a cesspool. Erwin had a good one back then.) The guy was huge, not just that he was almost 7 feet, but his hands and his head were incredibly large and he had one blue eye and one grey eye. They assigned him to the courthouse. Nobody got out of hand around him. Really a nice guy underneath it all. But wow, a lot of criss-crossing genetics there.

My family did a lot of back country camping up there on the TN/ NC border in the 60's. Back then you would get into some of those coves and hollers up there and you would run into people who just did not speak the same language as you. People who didn't send their kids to school (we're not talking about home schooling either).

Trump is the leading '24 repub candidate and that makes all the difference in the world.
