I guess the first question is, how did this gun get past the metal detectors? Was it a plastic 3-D printed gun? That might explain the miss.
Bigger problem: since the Warren Commission, only the most naïve are going to ever believe the "official" story, whatever it is. With institutional trust at an all-time low, everyone's opinion and conspiracy theory will have equal standing in the marketplace.
There is one thing that experience tells us we CAN count on: half or more of what we hear over the next 12 hours--regardless of which news network--will eventually be proven incorrect.
