Trump engages in voter suppression tactics

I posted this in another thread for BB, but I think it's applicable here as well.

Call in the crane

The threat is that they have their eye on you. If you are worried about being charged with something, or some trumped up accusation because you don't speak English well, or believe they will retaliate against you, then you decide its not worth the risk.

His message is clearly designed to scare people on the fringe into not voting.

Its disgusting.

That's insulting to Hispanics that came here legally. They know the law well. They are strong, smart and know their rights.

So, you're not voting?

Something I hadn't really thought about with the whole voter suppression idea, but what about states that have laws on what clothing you can wear at the poll? Usually they are written to go with the no politicking within X distance, and they make some sense to me that you shouldn't be able to wear political clothing to the station. but just wondering if anyone has thoughts on it? The reason it came up was because my coworker saw some MAGA hat wearing individuals that had the cops escort them off the premise because they refused to take off the hats. they weren't arrested, fined or anything, but they weren't allowed to vote with that clothing on.

If a tweet about the laws is enough to potentially scare off people I would think cops enforcing a dress code has to be seen the same way.

Man not allowed to wear Trump shirt votes shirtless

yeah thats not what we need. just think of all the feminist out there this could happen too. talk about voter suppression.

If it's the same women that posed for that "grab them by the ballot" picture, I'm sure the polls would clear out post haste.

Donald Trump warns of non-existent voter fraud - CNNPolitics

These kinds of messages are designed to scare people, particularly the poor and the immigrant populations, into believing that if they show up to vote, then they are going to be investigated and arrested.

I hope that if the Dems take the House they also initiate a criminal investigation into Trump for this sort of voter intimidation tactic. And if necessary refer him for criminal prosecution and a prison sentence.

Wait, voter suppression? You don't even believe that BS. Stop parroting the daily DNC talking points.

That would be historically accurate, right up there with George Wallace and Lester Maddox

Don’t leave out our illustrious black face wearing governor from Virginia , and his highly educated wife that hands out cotton bowls to the little black kids visiting the big governors mansion . SMH .
