Well, now he will have to sit for a deposition. And answer EVERYTHING about Russian assistance to his campaign, intended, traded for, or otherwise.

And he'll be under oath.

... but why isn't he suing The New York Times and The Washington Post instead?

It seems like Trump and his legal counsel know that this suit will be thrown out, and they are okay with that. Trump just wanted to file this complaint for public consumption.

It is weird that he cares so much about these dumb awards (Nobel Peace Prizes and Pulitzers).

Valid observation by you. Maybe the Defendant committee won't move to dismiss it, answer, and set his depo. Would be brilliant.

Yeah ...

I wouldn't expect any of you Trump bootlickers to even take a stab at the very reasonable question:

If Trump genuinely feels as though he was defamed by the reporting of The New York Times and The Washington Post, then why isn't he suing them, instead of The Pulitzer Prize board members?

All they did was hand out some stupid awards.

You get so hot and bothered when any attention at all is paid to his ridiculous conduct ... this is a forum to discuss politics, and he is a candidate for President. He is a relevant topic of conversation, regardless of how much that hurts your feelings.

Trump files defamation suit against members of Pulitzer Prize Board for defending 'debunked' Russiagate honors

There is some twisted logic at work here. If Trump thinks that The New York Times and The Washington Post reported lies as facts, then why doesn't he just sue them instead? They would be the people who defamed him.
I wonder if a suit against the awards committee is easier in some way. If the media had anonymously sourced the information about Russian collusion, wouldn't that be harder to force into the record from a legal battle?

From Google:
There is no federally recognized privilege that allows reporters to keep their sources confidential, but the Supreme Court has found that “news gathering is not without First Amendment protections.”

Holy ****, after all the documented evidence about Trump and Russia being a hoax, you still believe it. You're a complete loon.

Good question and I have no idea why his lawyers felt that this was the best way to proceed. I highly doubt Trump came up with strategy all on his own.

Agreed ... but accusing the Pulitzer Prize committee of "defamation" over the actions of two unaffiliated 3rd parties is a stretch. They can give their awards to whoever the hell they want to ... They are not required by law to justify their choices. It's their award, with their subjective criteria, with winners selected from their opinions.

This is another frivolous Trump lawsuit ... but it's the Dominion suit, which has no merit? LOL. This crap will get laughed out of court.

You are correct here. I mean, they gave a Nobel Peace prize to a treasonous POS that spent 8 years dropping bombs all over the world at an historic rate, while using drones to kill poverty stricken children, all because he gave passionate speeches with soaring rhetoric regarding the topic of worldwide peace.

These organizations can do and will do whatever they want. Clearly.

Obama acknowledged that he did not deserve the Nobel Peace Prize, and that he did not understand why he was getting one.

Trump not only lobbied for a Nobel Peace Prize, but he also asked the late Prime Minister of Japan, Shinzo Abe, to submit his nomination - and then Trump publicly boasted about being nominated.

So, it seems that a Nobel Peace Prize has meaning to at least a few people.

What the over emotional pantywaists, such as yourself fails to realize is no one other than your type gives enough of a 💩 to waste their time reading about it. Who really cares what he’s doing? He’s not the president and won’t be in 2024

... and yet, look who has 4 of the 19 posts in this thread so far. 🤔

Yeah, that's really consistent with someone who doesn't give "enough of a 💩 to waste their time reading about ..." the topic.

In one of his mansions that includes a security wall and armed guards. As he continues to lecture and speak at us about income inequality, “bridges not barriers”, and the dangers of guns.
Obama Doesn’t Think He Deserved the Peace Prize Either - Slideshow - Daily Intel

^^^^ When reading Barack Obama's explanation ^^^^ as to why he didn't deserve his Nobel Peace Prize, there is no reason to think he's being insincere.

Would Donald Trump ever say that he didn't deserve a Nobel Peace Prize? LOL! Yeah, right.

Donald Trump publicly lobbied for it more aggressively than anyone in history ever has. Trump stooped so low as to request Japan Prime Minister Shinzo Abe for a nomination, and then afterward, he bragged about receiving the (solicited) nomination.

LOL!!!!

Exactly. We have every reason to believe he isn’t being sincere. He’s never sincere. He cares about one thing, himself.
