My concern here, and I believe it is a valid one, is that we are seeing the opening acts of a second war of independence. In this case, King George is the deep state, and those of us who believe in the Constitution of the United States are the rebels. I believe it will be a largely “cold” conflict, although there will be hot spots here and there. I am reminded of the words of Patrick Henry when he spoke about the roots of the Tree of Liberty.

Absolutely and the best thing our government could do is to be more transparent which of course will not happen. If anything they will go even further away from the light and it will lead to even more people doubting the legitimacy of our democracy.

This is your and most of the liberals blind spot. Trump was just the catalyst that got a movement started, it's not his movement and he didn't start it. He simply gave millions of people that are fed up with the establishment and people like you someone to rally around.

Trump recognized an ignored and marginalized segment of our country and capitalized on it. It's not going away regardless of what happens with Trump.
