We will never know what effect our specific communiques have but, to offer a counterpoint, we live in Billings, Montana, over which that Chinese spy balloon directly flew last year. Back in the day 70's, 80's, early 90's maybe....Restaurants used to add beef tallow to their fry oil, or the beef tallow came already in the oil they used. That's why fries from everywhere used to be delicious. Soon, the trans fat craze, and certain groups that didn't want the tallow in their fries started complaining, so all restaurants removed it and just went with straight vegetable shortening. McDonalds was the only one that tried to simulate the beef tallow flavor. That's why their fries taste better, and different from all the others. At least that's what I read. TIFWIW
