Trump's Taxes

The rules are so ambiguous when it comes to this it's amazing. I even know a full time teacher that is a paid consultant in the district she teaches in, has 4-5 other teachers that work for her.
I work within this ambiguity. I provide consulting services and I am 1099'd. Even though, from a client's perspective, I am absolutely integral to the parent company.

I'm just saying. I think the post directly above clarified the optics of how the relationship would be viewed.

Those rules are bull. As an independent contractor I'm told by several of my clients what will be done, how it will be done and when it will be done. I guess by a strict interpretation of the rules anyone in a service business is an employee.

Without knowing the specifics of how his compensation was set up for the Apprentice, I still think the hair could be deductible if:

1. Trump actually paid the $70K
2. It can be related to TV work.

It's definitely a gray area and an aggressive position but it's not fraud.

Regarding the foreign income, I read it as receipts from foreign sources and not net foreign income. Won't know for sure until you see the returns. $73M of receipts isnt eye-opening since most of them would be non profitable receipts (Scotish golf revenue). $73M of net foreign income would be eye opening. Given how the NYT has framed this story, I would lean towards mostly golf property revenue.

Am I the only one here who would questions a persons financial acumen if they paid $70,000 for gettin' they hur did?

Relax "hogg", no ones going to argue that a male "escort" isn't a IC.

You see all those Rooms to Go trucks on the road delivering furniture? Every one of them is an independent contractor, told where to go, when to go and what to do. Even have to wear a RTG uniform shirt.

We had a tax guy who used to post here. I wish I could remember his name and invite him to the discussion.

Didn’t she have to fight that up to the higher courts to get that deduction?

But to answer your question, yes it should be a business expense just like her costumes are as it is part of the trade tools that directly contribute to her income, especially if said stripper is a headline act.

She got an assessment since she did not fully report all of her 1099 income. Was able to write a letter and the IRS agreed those were a legitimate expense due to her occupation. She showed an increase in bookings and revenue. She was able to deduct hair materials, makeup, mileage, gym membership, some outfits.

I went to HS with her so that's how I got involved if you must know.

Isn't it interesting that we are circling back around to Trump's taxes again after the "troops are losers" thing didn't fly, and the Russian collusion thing failed, and the Ukrainian phone call failed, and the upside down Bible, and the John McCain stuff, and the tear gassing the peaceful protestors for the photo op, and the "good people on both sides" thing, and stationing federal storm troops in cities with rioting, looting, and burning, and putting kids in cages, and the Hitler comparisons, and Stormy Daniels, and grab 'em by the p***y, and so on and so forth all have failed?

Yeah, Trump did what every person on here would concerning taxes.

Yeah, there is a LOT of gray area in that IRS rule.

As I pointed out, Julian faces 0 charges for the hacks. Do you want to know why? Because the Russians did the hacks.

Also, you're going to take the word of someone facing 17 federal charges?

I find myself more inclined to believe the guy that turned down a way to make it all go away in order to protect his source, while still stating it’s not Russia, than the folks screaming Russia, Russia for years while ignoring the Clintons and Bidens documented transactions with Russia.

For a second.

A brief instant of time.

You had a moment of clarity that in fact, by your own logic - your hero, the man you admire most in this world.... you knew..... unquestionably that he would think you're an absolute imbecile.

That has to hurt.
Like I said IDGAF. Obviously it bothers you what others think of you, your sensitive feelz and all. Why don’t you go out and riot and let out your frustrations on a light pole.

By the way, it's good to see you back posting again, Dyna.
