TrumPutinGate

Difference is, he passed it. Plus, the GOP announced as he was inaugurated that they would not cooperate with him on anything, no matter what.

If the GOP came up with a plan that kept the number of insured the same as now, and created more competition and lower price options, I don't see why the Dems would not be on board.

Again, though, the only way to get this done is to have young healthy people paying in, while they are low cost. Anything else is just kicking the can just a little further down the road.

He signed it without ONE GOP vote. No offer of compromise...and here is Nancy Pelosi's tweet today:

Every single Republican who votes for #TrumpCare will have this moral monstrosity tattooed to their foreheads forever. Every. Single. One.

Does that sound like someone you can get work a deal with?

So it boils down to this: If you like your Obamacare, you can keep your Obamacare.

Large portions of Obamacare were things initially proposed and supported by conservative republicans.

Such as? Romney is not a conservative.

In 1989 the Heritage Foundation proposed the individual mandate as an alternative to single payer.

The 1993 Republican alternative to Clinton's proposal, the Health Equity and Access Reform Act had numerous similarities to Obamacare.

Never his fault, right?

Why not just say, "We know we have to act. The current system is unsustainable. I shouldn't have pushed this first, but I did it because I really want us to get this corrected. So what I'm going to do is pull the bill now, and arrange some conferences with leadership in both chambers, including Democrats, to see if we can get past our differences and pass a good fix to the system. I'm open to all ideas, let's see if we can get this done."

It's never anyone's fault that's the problem. One day maybe we can hold politicians half-way accountable.

I wish this were true but we all know that the majority will get re-elected. Most people are too lazy to look into who's running for office and just vote who already holds the position. Hopefully that will change in the near future but I doubt it

You are right Gene and it is up to us, we the people to make the changes.

Well, folks, while I was on Elba, taking out the trash, seems we got a bombshell or two or three this week.

Comey? Schiff? Nunes? Collusion?

No, BigOrangeChoo-Choo said that Trump-Russia is done. Nothing. Nada. Nothing to see at all. Meanwhile, '72, golfballs, and other long-established truth seekers, condemned TrumPutingaters - including yours truly - for their insanity.

This confirms Ras's initial statement over two months ago that this is "the most irresponsible thread in VolNation history."

So, that settles it. TrumPutin Gate is now over. We were proven wrong. There truly is nothing to see here. Let's just close this thread and close the ongoing FBI investigation to boot.

'Sup? Have you been bundling money for Nunes?

How one goes from simply being chair of an intelligence committee one day to quite possibly committing himself to eventual time in the federal pen the next is a question answered best (and perhaps only) by Mr. Devin Nunes of California's 22nd congressional district.

The FBI needs to focus on finding the three million illegal votes.

Well that and Obama's wiretapping, which we were assured this past week by this forum's real nutbags would have a bombshell that would lead to Obama's imprisonment, which then promptly did not come to pass.

I kid you not when I say that those persons are in full-Berlin bunker mode.

Which reminds me, I'm keeping with my April-May deadline. I think it likely this all ends before the summer.

Oh, by the way, that Woolsey reveal on Flynn was insane. If Flynn is to escape prison at this point, he best be turning state's evidence.

I've seen some talk of heroes as of late.

In this dark hour, America needs its heroes.

Men of the public that will do their patriotic duty.

They are scarce, to be sure.

Adam Schiff, however, is such a hero.

Who will be the other Good Men, the Optimates, that will join him and save the Republic?

The Good Men, the Men of '17, wherever they may be gathering, will long be remembered.

You think he's trying to run interference for Trump and the Kremlin? Or do you just think he's incredibly naive?

That running to the White House stunt--if he's really trying to protect Trump he should have done something much more covert than that.
