why do children double as podiums in catholic churchs?
Ive never understood why priests and nuns could not marry
I understand married to god but................poon is poon
From the statistics, I do not think that the rate of pedophiles among the Catholic Priesthood is significantly higher than that among the average population. However, due to how the Church esteems itself above governments, the Church decided to handle all of these problems internally and in a very in incompetent manner. This is where the problem lies and it is a problem of both faith and government. Churches should have no more privileged rights than an individual. Churches should pay taxes just like individuals and there should be no such thing as either sanctuary and/or confessional confidentiality.
Priests cannot marry for two reasons:
1. Saul of Tarsus was a moron who thought that sex was inherently evil.
2. Pastors and Abbots were passing on 'Church Lands' to their offspring. The Church cannot go around giving away its own wealth now can it?

Paul ( Saul of Tarsus) does teach against fornication and adultry but he does give specific instruction for man and woman to marry in 1 Corinthians 7:2.
Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.
In the book of 1 Timothy, Paul gives instruction that a bishop and deacon be the husband of one wife.
Saul does say that if you are too weak-willed to be celibate then at least marry so that you are only having sex with one person. If he did not think that sex was inherently evil, then why is it that he reserves it only for the weak-willed?
