The funny thing about Tillman is that if you'll notice, he never says anything outside of the normal "jock analysis", he just says it in such a serious voice and with such a sincere look on his face that you are temporarily fooled into thinking that he just said something really intelligent.I though Spencer saying UT appeared to have never been coached, at halftime of the UGA game last year, was very insightful.
He does act as if he's discussing a nuclear arms reduction summit. The funny thing about Tillman is that if you'll notice, he never says anything outside of the normal "jock analysis", he just says it in such a serious voice and with such a sincere look on his face that you are temporarily fooled into thinking that he just said something really intelligent.
While I will admit I'm biased, I didn't think Bosworth did a bad job on the TBS night games. The funny thing about Tillman is that if you'll notice, he never says anything outside of the normal "jock analysis", he just says it in such a serious voice and with such a sincere look on his face that you are temporarily fooled into thinking that he just said something really intelligent.

Maybe he just thinks TCHFCATUTK is incompetent. It's his job to provide analysis and opinion. I don't see how that constitutes "taking potshots."Anybody that's been here for awhile knows how dumb I think it is to have a vendetta against a commentator, but Tillman has a history of taking potshots at Fulmer.

Would you have been happier if he used Lloyd Carr as the example?I can think of one very clear instance of a pure potshot. He was doing a highlight of a Big 10 game where a guy got stuffed at the goal line. His comment out of left field was "That looks like Phil Fulmer called that play." Maybe you think it was funny, maybe you don't, but the fact is that Phil Fulmer had not been discussed on the show and Tennessee wasn't even playing that week.
That constitutes a gratuitous potshot.
Not necessarily. There are plenty of people in sports journalism that I consistently disagree with. However, as long as they have a good faith factual basis for their comments, I don't accuse them of being unfair.
