Knoxville I think will get the fling, but there's no way in hell that Neyland is hosting the state football title game in any capacity but in the NCAA football video game.

Overhead costs would be through the roof for Neyland, although it would be a dream for almost any kid in the state. Cookeville will be a fine place for it, and I live across main street from MTSU. I can definitely see the members pro-M'boro being lackluster in their presentation, they definitely were in the previous years of advertisements.

So the Boro put together the lowest bid and still lost? Wow. I was looking so forward to state being hosted at MTSU thru the rest of my college career. The Boro is the geographic center of the state and I would think the best place to host a state wide championship.

Question... Is it the schools that bid on the turny or the cities?

The cities usually along with that cities Sports & Events committees that try's to bring in conventions, concerts, sporting events. etc..

Someone made a point earlier. Knoxville is not going to make much money if they host. Because the usuals like Alcoa, Fulton, and Maryville will not have to get hotels. So that's 3 teams that do not need hotels.

I don't think that Maryville will have to worry about playing in the title game this year (I hope I'm wrong).

Its funny to me, they change the classifications and moved Maryville up to the largest class, where they will probably field the worst team they've had this decade.

It was mentioned today that MTSU was losing money and the TSSAA wasnt happy that they were charging more last year. It was also mentioned that the TSSAA was just taking the highest bidd as well.

It will probably be a better atmosphere in Cookeville; can't be any worse than Murfreesboro. The stadium is just too big there.

There's no way Vandy could host 8 title games on natural surface over a week's span. They had artificial turf before the Titans bought them a grass, I believe as payment for using their stadium before LP was constructed.
