Weird.

Would have expected a McCain speech.

Hoping tomorrow drive time Beck gives Obama and the service a thumbs up. That would be a step forward.

I watched his show the other day for the first time in quite a while and he said basically exactly what Barry did tonight. Imagine that.

I only caught him on the radio Monday morning. He started off strong, defending himself much as Palin did. But after a few minutes he became ... unhinged. It got weird, stream of consciousness, tough to follow.

But he had a lot of dramatic pauses. Which was nice.

you surprised?

Just paying a compliment where one was due.

His latest obsession has been over the Spiderman musical on Broadway.

Oh yeah, he was talking about that for awhile Monday. I gather he was watching it when the attack occurred. He went on for like 15 minutes about what a big shot he is he had his bodyguards go outside and find out what happened. How they kept calling him "sir." How he reassured his wife it was nothing.

30 seconds about the incident. Twenty minutes about how he's like a real important person and it was like in a movie where he's president and they whisper in his ear.

He has no ego.

I give he speach a B- for the speach.

I give the crowd a F.

What the heck is with all the clapping and cheering? 6 people just got killed including a little girl. There's nothing to clap about.

idiot college students with nothing better to do on a Wednesday night.

I didn't watch it, but I heard that the cheesy t-shirts were also a nice touch to the carnival atmosphere.

Sorry I missed it...not really.

I'm the first to admit that most formal events in life are about pretense and personal edification, but in some rare cases class and dignity remain paramount. This would qualify as one of those instances. There has to be a reason people act like this, so I'm blaming business casual.
