the posters at VQ are saying the current players are buzzing about tomorrow's surprise signings...

Robert Nelson has apparently committed per the AJC.

That means Tana Patrick or Jonathan Evans is definitely off the table.

Just interjecting here. Do ya'll realize if VN were to merge all the recruiting threads it would make War and Peace look like a short story. Not complaining mind you because it has given me a chance to learn about something I never paid much attention to. I just find it awesome the interest shown. Keep it up.

Everything I have read says Phillips is a done deal elsewhere. Is there any web-based info backing up this guy's post? Also, would love to really understand the difference between Richardson and Thigpen. And keeping Stokes would be a stunner in my mind.

there's a report that AU's message boards claim Coleman/Evans meaning Nelson would be on board with us.

hopefully we'll get a 100% by the end of the day.

The reports on Phillips appears to be stemming from a radio show out of Chattanooga and some other tidbits floating around. Most all of this (aside from Nelson) appears to be speculation, but it sure is a lot different from yesterday.

Can someone give me an update on Greg Reid? I'm at work currently (on UT's campus no less =p) and i'm searching frantically fcor info on my phone. I thought Reid was supposed to announce at 7. I have been spending the lst 15 mins scouring VN for info. Is he just leting the presser drag on before choosing? or did it get moved?

He is suppose to annouce at 7:30 on a radio show down here, but I am having a hard timing get on.Must be alot of traffic right now.

I don't believe Oku is expected to make a decision until after signing day.

The difference between Richardson and Thigpen is not difficult to discern. Team Kiffin thinks Richardson can play. They obviously reached an opposite conclusion on Thigpen.

I listened to "The Talk Monster" 102.3 radio show from 6-7 PM based on a tip from a friend about the show. Basically, here is a summary of what was said:

"The war room at UT is packed with coaches, phones, fax machines...and an unlimited supply of Red Bull ordered by Coach O."

Greg King has committed to the Vols and is at the home of Phillips, where he is "babysitting" him after turning him back to UT.

Teague and Brown would be Vols.

Nelson was all-Vol and actually agreed to wait until after signing day, when UT's coaches will know if they land any surprises at linebacker, before knowing for sure if he gets the offer from UT. For a guy with over 40 scholarship offers who looks to be the perfect fit for Monte's defense, he must really want to play for UT and has put his ego aside.

Ended the show saying "join us tomorrow...looks like all the dominos are falling UT's way right now." Another announcer said he couldn't believe the way NSD was going to turn out for UT, and that he is now a Kiffin believer.

I missed the first 20 minutes of the show. Don't even know the names of the announcers, but one voice was definitely familiar and made me think he was a national or regional regular talk radio guy.

I admit it did get me fired up a little about tomorrow, especially after GoVolsXtra published their negative B.S. after the visitors we had last weekend. If all this works out and UT has a big NSD, I have to wonder if that was not part of Kiffin & Co's plan all along. If so, I applaud them for depriving KNS of any information at all, as I've come to hate that rag of a newspaper and their "GoVols" website, which is misleading itself.

Scout says that Oku is all but gone. I don't believe this; why would he not sign tomorrow if he had made up his mind already?

As far as Oku goes, I am kind of tired of hearing all this "on again....off again" stuff from him. We have a nice stable of RB's and if we don't get him, then fine. Next year it will give us a chance to load up on the best of the best.

I'll tell what I'm tired of is signing all of these RB's that are highly rated, and they don't live up to expectations. G. Riggs, Jakori Williams, D. Tinsley, L. Coker etc.
