Impressive season, bowl selection and win against USC. Tulane was an original member of the SEC and left in the 1960s. I'd welcome them back over many teams. They are traditionally good in baseball and this would help their football program tremendously.

They are a more prestigious University and Vandie pretends to be them. I'd love to see Tulane stomp Vandie annually....

This would also give us Vol fans an excuse to visit New Orleans for games.....

Great season from 2-10 last year to 11-2.

I’ve said it before, but American sports should adopt relegation and promotion like soccer.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^this. right. here. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Create a 'championship conference' and you have to win your way into that in order to be considered for the NC tournament

Boot Vandy & VA Tech to the American, promote Tulane and Appy to the SEC.
What the hell does VA Tech have to do with the SEC? At the same time, they were awful this year, but they are rebuilding after a coach decimated their program. We would’ve been relegated a few times of those standards were in place.

Tulane in the SEC , that’s funny . I’d invite TCU, Oklahoma State , or Texas Tech only because their better than Ole Miss obviously. Any team with a wave on their helmet that looks like a character you’d see on your toilet paper packaging , I’ll pass.

Don't kid yourself, Georgia Tech and Tulane would give half their campus to be brought back into the SEC, they left in the 60s when they thought they could do better on their own and they did for a while in the big cities where both schools are part of the social fabric of their communities, however it is a very new day in college sports with television, streaming and NIL driving the economics, particularly football, but I don't think either school will get an invitation to the most competitive conferences in the country, it just means more

Expansion is all about the Benjamins. Tulane probably cannot generate the revenue to match the asking price.

I hope they don't expand again for a while if ever. However, based on the past expansions it's all about new markets. My bet would be UNC and Virginia or VT if there were further expansion.

This is true. Might have resulted in better overall records for us with weaker competition.

I guess an overall P5/G5 relegation and promotion would be best, not just SEC.

Over the past 20 seasons they have been better than 7-6 just once……”this year” they have had 15 losing seasons……all in the little sisters of the poor conferences.

In NO way do they belong in the SEC.

Unfortunately I think expansion is in the works as long as the B10 is expanding. We would look for a school with synergy in tv revenue. Tulane doesn’t do that. My guess is it will include Clemson and someone outside the southeast US. Might include showing Vandy and other revenue dead weights the door.
