We're the butt of all jokes. In typical Tennessee fashion we manage to continue to deteriorate whats left of our National image. Boosters need to take the helm of this thing and make something happen.

Non of this matters come next August. The results have been and always will be what happens on gamedays. No one's ever won an offseason championship! (Although we acted like we did when Kiffin was hired)

That's the point I think. Come August we will want to turn our heads at the product on the field.

In all honesty, no one really cares. We care. Some of the other SEC schools remotely care. But outside of that who cares? 95% (totally made up number) of sports fan don't have the faintest idea how our job search is going or who we've been turned down by.

Does it suck? Yes. Does it need fixing? Of course, but being embarrassed about this is like being embarrassed that you tripped down your porch steps in the back yard when only your neighbor saw it.

Offer Butch Davis....let him build an awesome staff....he'll keep Pittman and Graham...he is a power recruiter....great NFL connections....he can really build this program up like he did Miami but without all the restrictions he faced at the "U"....and he has been cleared of any wrong doing by the NCAA. Grab him and lets go....hell...many on here wanted him when Kiffin bailed on us anyway.

This is a train wreck. We've been turned down by more then who is mentioned I guarantee...

We've known this was going to happen after the Kentucky loss LAST season...how we didn't have someone wrapped up already waiting when we fired Dooley is beyond me. So I don't know...

Comparatively speaking, not really. How much does the general SEC fan know or care about the Colorado coaching search?

People act like the entire sports nation is watching our coaching search like we are and laughing at us, when really, most UT fans aren't even watching the coaching search as much as we (those on the forums) are.

I heard that Hart's offers were not very large compared to other programs. He tried to go cheap...

A lot of people are paying attention and laughing at us. The ESPN boards are DIRTY Right now...or at least they were about an hour ago or so. i just really hope they have something lined up and they're just trying to throw people off because this is embarrassing...for any UT fan. i am curious what Swain is going to say tomorrow..

Probably "it's okay..we're still going to get our coach"

Maybe, but not one Tennessee needs.

This is actually not true. Type in Tennessee on Twitter's search engine and see what you get. Fans of other schools are laughing at UT big time. "This ain't the 90's" is a phrase that gets repeated often.

Yesterday, Chris Low's ESPN post got overwhelming traffic. The last time people laughed this much about college football was while watching "The Waterboy".

You obviously don't have XM sport radio. Dude it's all on the airwaves nationally with all the different schools having hired someone and Tn getting jilted by two coaches today in Gundy & Strong. You might think it's small from your room, but it's not.

I don't think you people have a good feel for the average fan. The average fan doesn't listen to sports radio. They certainly don't read or post on forums. The average fan reads the paper and sees the local news. That's it. Every single person on this site is vastly more committed than the average fan.

Obviously the media is talking about. But they and the people who call in are the vast minority. Anyone who writes in to Chris Low is the vast minority. Again, I'm not saying it's not bad, but people act like our job search is the headline of the 10 o'clock news.

I think UT football is on the verge of seriously becoming irrelevant for a long damn time in the SEC. All of these public rejections are damaging to the UT brand. ESPN did no favors by reporting that he was their top target. It wasn't a great situation for UT.
