Actually Strong would have taken the job if PM would have delivered a pizza to his home, personally. Better ingredients, better pizza, Papa John's

If I wake up in the morning and Strong is the new HC for the Vols, I'm going to be one ticked off Cardinal fan.

Relax guys. Granted college football isn't as big up here in Chicago, but, people up here keep asking me if we have a "home run" waiting in the wings. While I'm too embarrassed to tell them a coach from the Big East turned us down they have no clue. Most of the comments trending this garbage are our own fans sick of sucking and I can't blame them.

Nobody ... NOBODY ... turned down an offer. Period. The media can push it any way they need to push it in order to sell advertising and draw interest, but NOBODY turned down an offer. There may have been some feelers to gauge interest or to simply keep the smokescreen going. The deal is in place and has been in place. The timing is not complete. When the time is RIGHT, the RIGHT coach will be announced.

I don't think you people have a good feel for the average fan. The average fan doesn't listen to sports radio. They certainly don't read or post on forums. The average fan reads the paper and sees the local news. That's it. Every single person on this site is vastly more committed than the average fan.

Obviously the media is talking about. But they and the people who call in are the vast minority. Anyone who writes in to Chris Low is the vast minority. Again, I'm not saying it's not bad, but people act like our job search is the headline of the 10 o'clock news.
It was in nashville last night. Btw vandy is here. When people like chris mortenson, jason la canfora, espn are putting up headlines talking about OUR coaching search (not colorado's), it is an embarrassment. Jmo

Offer Butch Davis....let him build an awesome staff....he'll keep Pittman and Graham...he is a power recruiter....great NFL connections....he can really build this program up like he did Miami but without all the restrictions he faced at the "U"....and he has been cleared of any wrong doing by the NCAA. Grab him and lets go....hell...many on here wanted him when Kiffin bailed on us anyway.

this. perfect. Couldn't agree with it more, ESPECIALLY now. I mean, let's be honest, not like we have a lot of legitimate options left anyway.

I think UT football is on the verge of seriously becoming irrelevant for a long damn time in the SEC. All of these public rejections are damaging to the UT brand. ESPN did no favors by reporting that he was their top target. It wasn't a great situation for UT.

We are already 5 years into irrelevant...we are trending towards forever irrelevant... as in Kentucky and Ole Miss type irrelevant. We are a lot closer to them than we are to Alabama and LSU
