Turner is such a punk...

The only problem I have with him is that he was still complaining that he got fouled during the post game press conference. All of America saw that he used his left hand to push off/draw contact and that JP never touched him. He's a freshman who played the game of the tournament so I'll let it slide.

After all the calls that we have gotten this year I was shocked that one went our way.

Tennessee didn't play "out of their minds" last night....They haven't played a complete game yet, in the tournament...That should scare the shorts off the teams in the Vols way from here on out...

Turner is a fantastic player and one who seems to have a good attitude. But not going through the handshake line is classless.

From CBS article:

Turner was brilliant, shooting seven of 15 in the second half. The rest of the team was horrid: three for 16. That's 15 shots for the superstar and 16 for the other five who played in the second half. Turner might have been mad at something other than the loss when he walked off the floor without going through the handshake line.

His sportsmanship is classless. He may have been thinking that he has to come back. He should go on to the NBA. His supporting cast last night was a No Show because Tennessee was complete 2-5 plus 6.

Okay, I'm really too tired to scour all of the threads to see if this has been posted or not, but has anyone seen this quote from Turner tonight?

"They got confident and started making plays,'' said Turner, who also had seven rebounds, five assists and six turnovers. "They played out of their minds and that was it."

Anyone think that was a back handed compliment? Seems like "tennessee had to play out of their minds" to win the game... and like they played their worst game to UT's best game.

I honestly feel like both teams played great games, and Turner gave all he could but he wasn't on the better TEAM...and the better TEAM won tonight.

He can quit GRIPING and COMPLAINING for calls... Ugh, that makes me sick. Even the coaches and fans do it.. (Watch at the end of the game---three coaches are screaming and the referees for the no call...one of the coaches almost falls to the ground in shock).

Go Vols!

You're reading into that quote way too much, especially calling him a punk because of something you think he's maybe implying. You remind me of the guy at the bar who tries to fight people because he thinks they gave him a dirty look or accidentally bumped him.

Turner is a junior--not freshman. He did play one helluva game, but I don't think it was the game of the tournament though.

This was in the post-game interview RIGHT after they lost a chance to go to the Elite 8. Give the kid a break. He was still emotional. He held his disappointment in fairly well.

To all of the people that are "hating" on me now because I called Turner a punk, it's okay with me.

I think he's a punk if he doesn't shake hands with the team that beats him or states that his other team had to play "out of their minds" to win. I am pretty sure that he held his hand in the air and took in the glory when he made that game-winning jump shot.. didn't he?

Another thing, I've never seen somebody try to lobby and whine for calls as much as he did against UT. That kind of crap gets annoying--- I know some Vols that are prone to doing that, but it was pretty bad if you go back and look at the game.

I think LeBron James is a punk for walking off of the court without congratulating anyone on the Magic last year in the playoffs. It doesn't mean I think he's a bad player. Turner is a good player---but his "superstar" attitude in the middle of the game is just stupid.

Wrong.

I agree, but I don't expect anybody who just lost a game and got a mic shoved in their face to happy about it.

lOSU lost and he was a bitter baby about it, even going so far as to blow off his teammate that was trying to help him get up after he was done whining about the 'no call.' Sometimes your best isn't enough, and Turner's got to learn that. End of story.

Eh. We are playing at a higher level than we did through most of the regular season. I will give turner the benefit of the doubt that that is what he was eluding to, and not being a jerk.

Someone on either the MSU or Indiana board said that he told some guy "yeah, well you're kid looks like he has downs syndrome" in response to something said to him

course not sure how valid that info/story is though, but he might have a history of just being a jerk too
