Grotesquerie is aptly named, for it is grotesque. From its deeply flawed characters to its fascination with close shots of characters eating food, its milieu overplays its storyline of serial ritualistic killings and staged mutilations. I don’t like watching this show, but I can’t not tune in.

Agree. One episode made him my favorite cop ever. I forget season 1 or 2 likely, but they caught a guy who had murdered a kid. The criminal asked, after already getting a little roughed up, if he was gonna read him his rights. Hank replied, "rights? You've got the wrong cop", then busted him up more. Told Tiffany if we had more of that, there'd be less people getting out, and hurting more kids.
