I used old school tree stands, had to hug the tree to climb it. I've seen the ones that use a climber, but it wouldn't be under the stand.Support for the tree stand?
No, I bet it’s a piece of wood nailed to the tree to make a redneck ladder
Although it didn't help, I appreciate the picture.
Sometimes I make things more difficult than they are and that's what I'm going to conclude I did here. I still can't "see" it but I see enough.
I assumed that's what shooting light was but I'd never heard it used.
@GVF, I understand what you mean by shooting light. I liked the bobcat-gun barrel story. Glad the bobcat in the trap is OK.
It's all good. I was feeling humorous. Yet, I'm not a picasso artist.
It was a good story. It's just harder telling it on a message board. Especially to Zoners. Most of our attention spans are that of a gnat. That story was always funnier when my friend told it. What humors me is how bad a** most of us hunters think we are in the woods and then some of the things that happen to us. I got some hilarious stories. More so if you were there.
I've hunted most in South GA. 30 mins before sunrise and 30 mins after.I think that is how it is defined in the regulations manual. As it happens, with a good scope, you can have legal shooting light 10-15 minutes before dawn breaks, and for about 10-15 minutes after sunset. Or, maybe it's just a term we used??
