Twenty One Predictions for UT Basketball

I don't think KY will lead the league in defense.

It will be a complete meltdown for this team to lose to GA even if it's away.

Agree ok first part, losing Davis is a huge blow...I don't care what people say abou Noel, he is not Davis.

And agree on second point as well...while I agree we lose probably 4 games or so...we shouldn't lose to UGA.

*with that said, you usually lose to atleast one or two you shouldn't, happens to everyone...UGA very well could be ours, but I hope not. I see it being a team like ole miss or Arkansas that catches us. JMO*

Are you ready for this? You guys should get excited. I finally get to start a prediction thread about UT basketball. You know why? BECAUSE WE ARE 34 DAYS AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let's do this. There are two rules here: 1) If I am too optimistic, you are probably correct. I'm drunk on the Martin-ade. 2) You may bump this when I'm completely right. I don't want to bump my own thread to show how right I am. Deal? Deal.

Leading a team with .387% from 3 pt sucks

Well...mcbee led last year with just a .391...so that's pretty close to the same.

Typically you'd like to have your leader at +40%, say a Doron Lamb who hot 46.6% (incredible I might add).

I however don't see anyone on our team shooting +40% from 3, so .387% being our leaders seems plausible. I will add this...it's not a bad number, IF your other wings/guards are also in that range. If trae, Jordan, skylar, josh, dmontre and Armani all shoot 36-38%, we could be very very good.

I think one thing this shows.....Is.....winning cures all of the haters.....I got sick last year reading all of the NEGA VOLS about CCM should be fired...no experience...didnt come from a big name school...and by the end of the year...they where GONE...hopefully CDD can win 5 of the games on the schedule...to help the recruiting for 2013...and compete for the 2013 SEC playoff game in Georgia....

Fantastic predictions. Super fun to read. I'm seriously starting to get hammered on this Cuonzo Martin adult beverage that everyone has been chugging all summer. Tip off can't come soon enough.

I'm confused by this post. How does going 19-15 and losing at home in the NIT prove all the doubters wrong?

When picked to finish 11th in the SEC, finish around .500, miss the NIT, and not land any big recruits is the expectation...yet you exceed all those...that's usually a start.

Why all the hate? Any fan would be happy with what CCM has done. Especially his recruiting class. No offense to UT but last years team had some serious problems that he was stuck with. Yet he ended the season tied for 2nd with a program predicted to finish 11th. Besides when was Stokes even allowed to play?

Curious where the offense struggling early stuff is coming from. I fully expect Golden, McBee, McRae, Stokes and Maymon to start the first games, specifically because they do understand the offense. Edwards and Moore will have time to grow into their roles. I for one expect this team to come out at Puerto Rico firing on all cylinders. (at least with the starters).

You clearly put too much stock in predictions by writers that struggle to pick their nose.

On a related note, I saw where your boy Griffith aka Writer32 got cast away to Michigan.

I agree. To add, Richardson, Hall, Yemi off the bench should also know the offense.

And you clearly have unrealistic expectations....like saying UT shoould have made the tourny last year...SERIOUSLY WTF???

As far as Griff, never did like him...but actually he didn't get cast away, he's leaving KNS for that job....as you like to say "don't let the facts get in the way".

That may be true, but those writers still know more than you

Good that they know the offense, bad that they can't score. Which is why I think McRae should come off the bench, provide some fire power.

I like McRae off bench the bench also. I know those guys dont score alot of points. It's good to know the offense from the stand of point of keeping it flowing.

I just think it's going to take a few games. It'll be fine soon enough.

All winning does is breed more haters. His doubters will turn right into haters. Someones success can be measured by the amount of haters they have.

You want rivals to hate your coaches. We have the most loved coaches in basketball and football in the sec. Not good. When your rivals want you to keep your coaches, it should set off alarms.
