Two 2018 recruits in attendance...

Interesting that Allisha Gray didn't follow Diamond here... They were real tight like her and Te'a, playing together for a lot of years in AAU.

When recruits see Diamond standing around in this stagnant offense and think back two years ago when she dropped back to back 30-point games at Cameron and at NC State, they have got to be scratching their heads...

hit the nail on the head. which also explains some of the turnovers. she's trying to play the game faster and throwing the ball where her teammates should be and they're standing around. Holly wants to play it slow and methodical. this is how i remember teams playing in the 80s.

Not sure how that figures in. Can you explain briefly?

when there released, the team or coach can set restrictions on where they can go,a lot of teams won't let players back in there own conference for an example and they can say which team too I believe

which I understand the conference thing, but not signaling out just 1 team, that isn't very fair to the player

but they are breaking a contract,so stuff happens :)

and for some in this thread, way to support your team when there trying to recruit players,do ya'll actually think they don't read the message boards when they are in the process of being recruited ?

Anyone know what two 2018 recruits were in attendance tonight?

NAME HOOPGIRLS YEAR

MERCED. #1 2013
D.D. #3 2013
NARED #6 2014
TUCKER #8 2013
GRAVES #5 2012
TE'A #12 2015

CARTER #21 2012
ALEXA #28 2014
JONES #39 2012
JORDAN #42 2013
MEME #49 2015
KORTNEY #78 2014

What would have happened if Tucker had of worked out????? We could have started five players in the top 8 in their (years) class!!!!

Plan (B) go with the top five you have now and finish the season as strong as you can?

Plan (C) This year is done! Start Merced, DD, Jamie, Te'a, Carter...... play them together until fouls or conditioning dictates a substitute? Maybe they will be ready by next year?

Yep but everybody else guard will have one more year of
experience, all our guard with have to make quantum leaps to keep pace with the elite.

You can never have enough guards, so a new guard coach is defintiely in order, Nikki, u ready come back to Orange, help get some toughness back. But Nicki is Alpha, she'll prolly take over.

Here's to a strong finish, we need a winning streak of six games, six solid performances, can we do it?

Did Jannah ever play a game? If not, why not?

Yes.... she got in a few times in a clean up roll. Wearing a knee brace and hobbling up and down the court.

She was supposed to be the shooter we needed???

The NCAA imposes the 1 year sit-out after transfer and most conferences add an additional year which has nothing to do with whether a coach releases a player or not. Faced with sitting two years on a transfer within the same conference most players who transfer choose a school from another conference.

The coach can restrict the 'release' to selected schools, or to all schools except a restricted list, or they can choose not to grant any release (recently this situation has caused a lot of bad publicity for schools and coaches, so they are not likely to choose not to release a player at all.) A transfer can choose to ignore the coaches 'release' and go anywhere, but if they do not have the release they have to pay their own way during the year they sit out - not something many parents or kids are going to choose to do.

The reason given for restricting a release is typically a sense of undue influence or tampering with the player by the coach, staff, or players on the restricted team.

Anybody else realize how silent recruiting is going for the LV in the 2017 class???

I wouldn't be surprised if we struck out again on any Elite recruits. Opposing coaching staffs are going to use this season to recruit against Holly along with a frustrated fan base. This needs to be her last season or recruiting will continue to sink. I will expect negative recruiting to be at an all-time high and I also expect some fans to still believe Holly is the one while Tennessee is getting bashed on the recruiting trail.

Let's take a step back and ask, "What can Holly offer recruits?"

She's not a coaching mastermind, a degree from UT pales compared to the likes of Stanford/Duke/ND and a host of other schools with strong programs, and Tennessee is no longer a powerhouse and is on a downhill slide which will continue into next year unless every player that returns makes significant improvements.

Recruits came to Tennessee to play for a legend. No one is going to say, "I really want to play for Holly Warlick!"

She needs a value proposition for recruits. Saying, "We are Tennessee" is pretty meaningless these days.

Very informative--thanks.
