two interesting walk-ons on the spring roster

All I am suggesting is that every year some posters think that walk on's are somehow going to be the key to a great season or pay significant contributions to a teams success. It's reality..

I just asked if anybody heard about Jumper's status with the team.

Drop the razor blade and get off the ledge...

For the record, and totally unrelated to bumping this thread, walk-ons make a significant contribution to the program every single year. Most of them never see real game time but they work hard, provide practice depth, and give a "I'm giving my all for UT" attitude. All with no hope for a scholarship. This is an important part of every program.

Alot of the walk ons are the players that the starters go against in practice. Ultimately the better they are, the better our starters prepare. Having better talent at any level of UT's football team is a good thing. That max arnold kid has been in the 2-3 deep for awhile now. Not that its earth shattering or im saying the kid is eric berry but it helps.

Obviously, Biopsyman either failed as a Walkon or, most likely, did not have the guts to try.

Some days I think the Reality Police on VN are more annoying than the Grammar Police...

Say something about Cordarelle Patterson and watch the VFL Police round up your family

I am sure you were the Rudy of your HS.

I actually kinda was the Rudy of my HS. I was a 140 lb wrestler who played football to help stay in shape and I had that kind of attitude. I wasn't afraid to hit anyone, no matter how many times I got my d!ck knocked in the dirt when I hit someone twice my size lol

And though UT will bring in Dillon Bates, Chris Weatherd and Gavin Bryant over the summer, Thigpen thinks Jumper has a good chance to see the field as soon as next year in some capacity.

“I think he’ll stay up there,” Thigpen said. “He’s found a role on this football team on special teams and right now he’s got a whole semester jump on guys coming in. We moved some guys around at linebacker and the depth is not that much, so we’re going to get three linebackers in this summer, but, still, the numbers are right for the young man.”
