Talented but nonproductive. Why waste the scholarship? Brown was a wasted player at UT. Would rather have a player who wants to prove themself.

Feel like you’re making some major assumptions about this kid If you’re saying he doesn’t want to prove himself?

I don’t understand the angst some in this thread have towards him? Signed with UGA and wanted out of it. We should like him even more bc of that IMO.

Everyone just mad he hasn’t announced a school yet?

If he's as talented as it appears he should be able to make a difference in our record this fall. That could make it easier to hang on to the studs we have committed this cycle. It's a long way to signing day.

He had 460 yards here as a freshman behind Montario Hardesty. No reason to slight the dude by saying he wasn't productive. He was behind a senior that was a very good back himself.

Theres a pretty great chance he pans out to be at least serviceable. Bryce Brown still made it to the NFL. We 1000 percent take him every time and to me it doesn't matter if we get him or not, because next year we have Gray and the two seniors, the year after Cody Brown is coming so, I dont really have strong emotions about this situation.

I dont want him to go to the Gators though that's for damn sure.

If you believe his production level is “a waste of a scholarship” then you’re not worth arguing with. He ran for 460 as a freshman and ran for 500+ in an nfl season. I’ll happily take that.

You never wanna be like Georgia and say “He’s talented but was never really a take for us.” Highly talented and game breaking elusiveness combined with speed can’t be taught. You always take a player like this. Saying anything else is giving your ego a big ole stroke

He committed, signed, then asked out of a LOI. Yes, it's UGA, but that's still not a great look. He also has multiple instances of causing disruptions within his high school team. The one I recall was he was banned from a game for not giving up his cell phone per a team policy. He later apologized afterwards, but again, not a great look. Running his recruitment out this long is something I'd also consider not great, but that one is certainly debatable. There's a lot more smoke around this kid than him just being in a small pissing match with Kirby.

Idk, agree to disagree. I don’t hold a player being immature in HS (he didn’t give up his phone it’s not like he robbed an old lady) against him.

For example: Cade Mays committed to UT, decommitted, committed to UGA, had a vid saying F UT or some shite, signed with UGA, played for UGA, then transferred to UT.

Do you have concerns with Cade’s character? I know I don’t.

He’s likely running his recruitment out this long bc he has zero reason to make a decision right now. Can’t show up on campus currently so what’s the point?

All I was really trying to say was there are more issues than just him changing his mind about UGA. I view the situation around him to be littered with red flags. I wouldn't debate anyone who looked at the same info and said, "meh, he just needs to grow up a bit." In my experience, the guys who drag recruiting past NSD usually have someone in their ear who is problematic (like BB's father).

To your last point, the point, to me, would be to start getting to know his teammates. To get ahold of a playbook and start learning the offense. To start real discussions with the coaches. To maybe get an offseason work plan. I think there's a lot that can be done without physically being on campus. A guy like this wants to come in and play as a freshman, but CJP isn't letting him on the field if he doesn't know his blocking assignments. Again, just my opinion.

I said somewhere earlier in this thread that I'll be happy to be wrong if that ends up being the case.

My comments have nothing to do with Zach. BB was average at best in my opinion. Would rather had a kid with above average talent who wanted to prove themself. BB was all about himself and not the team. We have had many backs who ran for 500 yards a year with much less talent.
