Watched quite a bit of him playing. If people cannot see that Nolen is an elite DT then whatever I guess. People like to say all kinds of things about him. Yet none of it seems to be centered around his actual play on the field or since he has been at TAMU.Studied Nolen’s film for the year did ya
The drop off. We had some injuries there and the drop off was bad. Got run over by Missouri. We held a&m impressively but depth was an issue late season. Both sides of the ball need some depth. We are building it but you can’t have enough talented Interior guys. It’s like weapons for Nico, bring all the weapons you can In. Practice needs to be harder than the games. Ask any player fromWhere does this idea that we need interior help come from? DT is probably one of the best positions on the team.

The bama dynasty or even Georgia the past 3. Their toughest matchups are at practice.
What was his cost per tackle in NIL dollars in his career? No doubt he is physically gifted, and if he had a motor to go with those gifts he would be worthy of the big bucks. Just don't see him flipping a switch and taking over the LOS on any kind of consistent basis and throwing in a big play every now and then could easily lead to a calculation that you can get a bigger bang for the buck using the NIL to add some other players. Does he project to at least be a leader in his room, much less on one side of the ball? SO is wanting him a bad thing, no. It just might not be the best thing for UT and maybe that is what a bunch of us are hoping for. These are NOT binary decisions, and I will go with the apparent decisions of our staff and not lament he is not coming here. So as a VOL I will hope that his future production shows a lack of character to match that of his new coach.Watched quite a bit of him playing. Of course had we landed Nolen out of HS, the same ones talking smack about him would be praising him. Also I think if he would have came here through the portal, many of those same people would also be happy to have an elite DT.
So I guess wanting elite players to come to TN is somehow a bad thing now
He has had a lot of twists and turns in a short amount of time. I would just caution using terms like "me first head case". I don't know him from Adam but I do suppose that some of these young athletes coming up are put into a weird situation of supporting the family financially with their abilities. Do you think he went to 4 different high schools because he wanted a change of scenery or because he was promised jobs for parents or money? Just sayin. He’s a “me first” head case. 4 high schools and would’ve transferred after freshman season at aTm if someone exceeded his initial deal.
No judgment from me, but the message board chatter (so TIFWIW) on the guy is that he doesn’t go to class, smokes a lot of weed, and along with several others from the ATM 2022 class, completely ran over Fisher. Took himself out of the last four games of their season and it wasn’t for injury. Like some have said, not a criminal or bad seed, but expected a different set of rules to apply to him, and that can disrupt culture on a team. An undeniable NFL talent if he locks in on doing the work he needs to, but do we have the WR room leadership to bring that out of him?he has questionable work ethic type of stuff. Aka doesnt wanna work hard.
