With all the expert recruiters on this site, I thought it would be fun to go back and take a look at what posters on this site were saying about Bray.

"I doubt this kid could lead us to championships..."

"Honestly, Unless this kid is going out for goal posts I don't think we need him...Eat a sandwich or something"

"Kid is just not that good. IMO."

"There is a reason there are no reports of us contacting this guy. You never know but he is not a Kiffin or Chaney type of QB."

"Let's not start driving this thread to 20k posts now. We're not getting this guy, nor does the staff want him. Leave the thread alone."

"Jake Heaps is the only player in this class who may be ready to play as a freshmen. This has always been the problem"

I, for one, called him a bean pole....with an elite arm. I've said all along that Bray was a player.

Worley is another story. I completely expect him to be recruited over. He's as accurate as they come, but his mechanics leave a lot to be desired AND he has a candy arm. He will make a great backup QB for 3 or 4 years, though.

I kinda agree with you there, unless and hopefully Worley proves me wrong.

He beat Memphis, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, and Kentucky so he must good. Conversation over, First Team All SEC next year.

I was iffy on Bray until I heard reports from camps about his arm. He went to some elite camps and won MVPs.

When you have a cannon strapped to your shoulder you can do some amazing things.

Get him educated on reading defenses and understanding what plays he needs to be in and where the ball should be going and he will be all-world.

He was great if not spectacular against Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina. In 3 or 4 years you will be able to watch him on Sunday's imo. Don't know what you have been smoking but I will happily take him over any other returning QB in the SEC.

I remember one post saying " Is this the best we can do? Bray has offers from San Diego State and Fresno State."

I think Bray will be just fine. I was and continue to be scared when he drops back to pass. He looks so frail when he on the field.

When I first heard of him I said the same thing, but when I saw recruiting videos I loved the velocity of the ball out of his hands.

I also talked smack about him being thin & taking hits ..... I guess Bray proved me wrong there ! :good!: Tough kid ready to ride Tyler's back to the top

The one thing about Bray that impresses me the most is how everytime he chucks it deep, I expect a completion. Given, our receivers are a big part of that, but he can throw it a mile and usually has it in a position of advantage for our playmakers.

I think the play he started the season with is the one he ended it with.....A costly pick from a guy he didn't think would be there. I played very little QB so there are some things I am unsure about, but I know that he needs some work at reading a defense. When he becomes proficient and comfortable doing that he WILL be a great one!!

what many who criticize Bray fail to realize is that peyton manning was almost just as skinny as a true freshman...not saying bray is the 2nd coming of Manning, but you will be amazed at the muscle these kids put on between their freshman and sophmore yrs. provided we get a decent S&C coach...

i get what you are trying to do here - and it must make you feel good to tell some internet posters "hahahaha i told you so" but why dont you also go back and post what some of the positives were in that thread

I think the moral of this story is....we don't know. Bray may flake out. Worley might lead us to a BCS bowl. Bray may be 3 and done. Who know's? It's fun to talk about it but that's about it.

I thought Bray was a risk that we had to take. Looks go so far. No need to expect anything less from Worley since hopefully he'll have a few years to grow first.

This. As polished as Peyton was coming out of college he threw 28 int his first year at Indy. Obviously some of this had to do with the talent around him, but the adjustment to the speed and the looks he faced took time. His arm and talent will get him very far, but not to his ceiling until he nails down that aspect which I think he will with Chaney's tuteledge
