Tyler Russell -vs- Tyler Bray

3.5 miles northeast

No way it's NEAR 3.5 miles. I've pulled a cooler from the game to downtown many times. 1-1.5 mi MAX. The 2nd pushpin in the pic is the exact spot Billy's picture is from. From the stadium, you have ~ .5 mi walk to the Cotton District. It's the more artistic, dive bar atmosphere in Starkville. This section has had the most work in the past 5 years of anywhere there, and is really unique now, especially on gameday. It's a ton of small bars, backed by small houses really close together, one way streets, and is a nonstop block party on gameday.

You keep walking another .5-1 mi in the same direction on the same road to reach downtown. It's plenty nearby to walk to, especially if you arrive early and park somewhere in the middle. .5mi to the closest bar, under 2mi to the furthest one. Downtown has also had a TON of work don in the past 5 years. It's being modeled in the same vein as the Square in Oxford.

I keep saying...this is not the same Starkville/MSU anymore. I graduated in 06, and a ton of the issues I had personally with the town and school have been or are being addressed. It hasn't "arrived" yet by any stretch, but it is improving at a fast pace. Students got organized in 2007ish and started a grassroots movement to establish residence up there for most incoming freshmen. In doing this, the school has essentially took control of the city government(school itself is as big as the town population wise). There has since been a ton of progressive changes and improvements made that would've been laughed out of the room previously. I know what it was before, and it more closely resembles an Oxford or Auburn now than the Starkville of 1990-2005...

Would be great for some of you to make the game this year and see how things have changed since your last visit! :):dance2:

No offense...and I know the UT fans will be very surprised by this...but you haven't a CLUE what your talking about!

Stadium to furthest bar(Mugshots) downtown. And this isn't the most initially direct route either

Whoa no way Billy exaggerated something

that's a direct walk but if you walk the way that's less traffic but a little longer it's close to 3. You must not be that familiar with Starkville Engie.

Ridiculous argument is ridiculous. Can't believe I'm letting myself by trolled by your stupidity right now.

Seriously, how would you walk Billy? Twice as far for fun? To do that, you've got to walk down a State Highway without sidewalks. Yeah, that's a good idea!

Last I checked, I'm not worried about "car traffic" on the BIKE/WALKING PATH that leads all the way from the stadium to downtown over the pedestrian bridge that turns into University Ave. Nevermind that this way has the least car traffic of any route in Starkville due to the amount of pedestrian traffic.

So, I ask again, show us your "secret route" that requires me to walk twice as far "with less traffic." Clearly, you've never walked from the stadium to the bar(probably can't even get in).

Why am I arguing with the genius who called out a fan of the ONLY SEC team with a decisive winning record against us in baseball?:banghead2:

Thread is an embarrassment to the rest of us so-called State fans that understand what we are and what we're not, while working to improve that reality and change a perception and stereotype that Billy constantly represents here...:spank:

Maybe he literally is a professional troll. Can't believe I took the bait on this tonight :mf_surrender:

I'm not mad I'm just saying y'all act like Starkville sucks when Knoxville is not even really a real college town it's more of a bigger city type place. Starkville is a cleaner place and a lot more safe than Knoxville. I know it's not as big but you can ask pretty much anybody and they'll tell you that Starkville is a lot better overall college town than Knoxville. It's just not as big.

I've been to Starkville several times, best friend graduated from MSU. Knoxville>Starkville. Period.

I didn't mind msu campus. Wasn't too bad at all. And starkville isn't that bad. Whole lot better compared to Oxford than most ole miss people would want to admit.
