I don't care how mature you are, you don't have someone who is the same age as the players coaching them, men's or women's. Especially on the college level. I wouldn't let a 22 year old coach high schoolers. Too much can screw up.

Pat Summitt did. That turned out okay.

AGAIN, different time. different era. vastly different circumstances in regards to the game at the time. Same sex as well.

I've seen coaches that age fail miserably before with the way times are now. A 25 year old is still a kid and should most certainly not be ordering around others within a few years of them, let alone of the opposite sex predominantly.

But no worries, save my posts, wait a few years if he gets the job, and come back and see if I'm right or not.

We do have to stop making this assumption that Tyler Summitt will be a great coach because his mother was. If he becomes a good coach, wonderful--but he's got to prove himself. When PS started coaching UT, women's basketball was in its infancy--I don't think that half of the teams now playing the sport even had teams when she got started. It's a totally different era--much more competitive, and a LOT of very good coaches. Tyler will have to show he's a very good coach before getting the UT job. This is an important program--you don't just hand it to someone because of his name. The best indicator of coaching talent is when someone takes a weak or mediocre program and makes it good.
