U.S. boosts deportation of illegals

You CAN'T be serious.
I CAN.

Doesn't the government also have the duty of enforcing the laws of the land? The same laws these people are breaking when entering into our country illegally!
The supreme duty of our federal representatives is to uphold the Constitution. Our current immigration laws are, in my opinion, completely counter-intuitive to the ideas that were set forth when this nation was founded.

I want to ask you something TRUT.

Do you believe that today's immigrants legal and illegal are as patriotic as the one's that did just as much bleeding to come here between the 1880's and 1930's?? Also, do you honestly believe between all the lower class people in metropolitan and rural areas that we have enough unskilled labor jobs to go around for the type of immigrants that are coming to this country now??

I do understand that we have a lack-luster Immigration system and it does need reform, however is it really worth having more people on welfare, helping to destroy our health-care system, and bankrupt our SS system??

The problems you are speaking of have everything to do with welfare, social security, health care, public education, etc. They truly have nothing to do with immigration.

Its interesting seeing the differing viewpoints on the illegal immigrants from those in western border states to those in and around Tenn.

you mean there's a difference in the views of people who see it everyday as opposed to those who see it on TV?

TRUT, I respect you very much for what you've done for this country, and I generally agree with your views. However, on this one, I believe you're dead wrong. You've been wrong before, correct?

I cannot ever recall that happening.:)

Hard to respect the laws of a country when the first thing you do is break one just to get here. There is nothing wrong with doing a better job of protecting the borders and slowing down the flow of immigration. The welfare system does need to be reformed, but that doesn't mean we can sit on our hands while millions come into this country illegally.

That argument is incredibly trite and absurdly false.

No anymore anyone who disagrees with you is trite and false... rational thought indeed. You've read a book on it I'm sure. This time you're just wrong, but maybe ego dictates your opinions. All the same, you have a terrific weekend.

Who are we protecting our borders from?

Who are we protecting our borders from?

Apaprently from no one... I'll be more than happy to discuss this later if you're on; right now I have plans. If you don't believe that there isn't a threat to our sercurity right now with the borders being in the shape they're in, and that ILLEGAL immigration is bad for the country, then no matter how much I argue with you, you're never going to see it.

All that aside, I do hope you have a nice weekend. Take care, same goes to everyone else on here. Time to eat dinner witht he family.

We need to better DEFINE our borders. A country is defined by it's language, culture and borders. Our borders are a joke.

I have dealt with "the U.S Embassy" in three different countries for the last 10 years. The people that work there are often rude, arrogant and in general very hard to deal with, and that is from an American viewpoint. After these encounters, I often wonder why the hell anybody would want to come to this country, but they do. It is often a very long process....usually years. They can cross the border in a matter of days, again I understand their choice. :hi:

most things in life have a hard and an easy option. The difference is in which one you choose

Another thing to take into account, most people think they have a choice of taking the legal route or taking the illegal route. More often then not. the choice is taking the illegal route or not ever getting in; it is not easy to get into this country legally. Way more people are turned down than accepted.

I truly believe we need to make the LEGAL process of becoming a citizen easier and more streamlined.
