On the other hand, what fan base do recruits turn to when they want to get their LOVE and followers? TENNESSEE

Tennessee fans are probably the most hungry for a winner as well. We have dealt with more BS the last ten years than any program in the country. I think we are just fed up with the BS and at this point want the wins. I actually believe that is the reason fans of UT are most annoying. Give us a SEC Championship and a playoff run and we will shut up. I actually can't blame our fans for being annoying,

It's just the reality of the situation. I personally do not have a twitter account nor have I ever had conversations with prospective athletes. However, I can see why our fan base acts like they do. They are grasping for straws at this point. If we were winning all of this crap would cease.

You know you say that but I doubt it. We have a high percentage of idiots and winning would just rile them up more.

A large vocal portion of the idiots that make up #VolTwitter are extremely annoying and are an embarrassment to the fanbase.

It was great to have the most active fanbase on social media back in 2013 but now that the fans have started to sour on Butch and have become dissatisfied in general it is more of a detriment than a benefit.

That's the world we live in. Herbstreet said it best. Tennessee fans are starved for something positive. All we keep doing is hiring mid major coaches and expecting them to deliver championships. It just takes the right coach. No one was all that thrilled about the hiring of Jones to begin with, because they knew we'd probably be right where we're at in a few years. He was the guy to get it off the mat. Now he's backing up in recruiting and the on field results just aren't there. People are sour on that for good reason. I really think they should use their wallets more to voice their displeasure than social media. It will get more results.

Other team's fans tweet to recruits just as ours does. Used to recruits loved it and there were similar polls to show it. What has changed? IMHO, our program's success. We're not in that group of teams that has a legitimate shot at playoff spot. We're an annoyance because we are a paper tiger.

Second tier and the powers that be seem to be fine with that. That is as long as they keep selling tickets. They're extremely arrogant and stubborn and loss of revenue is the only way to open their eyes. Should get a bunch of that about midway through next season. Jones isn't changing anything. You can tell by the way he speaks, he's tone deaf to it all, it will be his undoing.

We have pretty huge numbers of avid fans on social media. The majority of them are reasonable people. It is the unfortunate minority of psychos that we have a larger number of based upon sheer numbers of our fans active on social media.

I have a hard time believing our fan base is less intelligent than other fan bases. That is kinda ridiculous to me lol. They are just hungry for a winner. We aren't winning so everything is magnified. Due to that, people start to look at recruiting rankings, hang on every word Butch says, and start looking for problems from within the program to explain the failures. It's called a hungry fan base. Winning cures everything.

Lets not make this a bash the team or staff thread, this is about the idiots that spew negativity onto the interwebs like a sneeze from Captain Tripps.

Maybe I should just hold up a mirror because I'm sure those that contribute to this situation will sniff it out soon enough and rail against all things UT.

It's a huge fanbase. Going to have some good with the bad, they just seem to be more vocal than a lot of others and show how crazy they are sometimes. Like i said words don't change anything, money does. So basically they're wasting their breath and making themselves look a fool.

Reporting every move you make, every thought you have on social media is idiotic. People in business and government already know more about you then you want them to know. :detective: :hmm:

#FSUTwitter has a porn star tweeting at their recruits. We got ugly Sab tweeting Butch Jones "Life Championship" cliches to our recruits

At least Jon Reed is funny every once in a while
