The same could be said about Missouri, Ole Miss, Georgia, Arkansas, Vandy, Florida, Auburn, and Alabama. Yup, folks are just itchin’ to see those high quality games. Can't wait for the next Ole Miss Alabama matchup... it'll be a real humdinger for sure.

It's time for the SEC to come into the 21st century and begin to play modern ball.

If you are so crazy about Geno go back to the boneyard. Good grief enough is enough.

Let’s assume for the sake of argument just for this moment that I agree with you that the SEC game is rough and tough enough to ‘beat up’ the UConn team to the point that they lose at least some of those games and/or that they don’t get as far into the tourney as they otherwise would have.

What this says about the SEC game is not something to be proud of if basketball is a game you love. What it says about all SEC fans, including those few Neanderthal fans looking for blood and guts on the court, is that they value brutality over skill. Bruises over basketball.

What is says is that the fans of the SEC WCBB game value an elbow to the ribs more than they value a perfectly executed pick and roll. What is says is that a knee to the thigh is valued more than a beautifully executed backdoor cut. What it says is that a forearm shove to the neck is of more value than ball movement.

What it says is that the SEC fans values dirty play over skilled play. What it says is that SEC fans are not fans of basketball but instead fans of rollerball.

This ridiculous argument about the superiority of the SEC rough and tumble game does clarify one thing… it explains why so many SEC fans are so often complaining about the refs… as the SEC rollerball game is so very dependent upon ref intervention.

Now understand, I don’t buy that argument and so I don’t agree that SEC fans, outside of those few Neanderthals that all teams and conferences have, value brutality over skill so I dismiss the basis for that argument. The legal, normal and acceptable physicality of play does not lead to season fatigue nor does it lead to an uptick in injuries. I played D1 ball when I was young and there were only two things that led to fatigue as the season wore on.. The first was losing and the second were those dreaded extended road trips.

Sorry non of this is what I mean, I do not value the rough and tough style of play but it is there. I do not watch the SEC to see blood and guts on the floor, that is ignorant at best. So I guess you misunderstood what I was trying to say. I played D1 football and as the year went on you suffered injuries and got beat up to the point you could feel the effects of a long year, especially in the trenches. Since I coached but never played basketball or coached at the D1 level I cannot say, however, the best body can only take so much practice and play before there is some elements of wear and pain that was not there before the season began. I disagree that only long road trips and losing causes fatigue. No matter what fatigue can set in. It just stands to reason. Except for UCONN and UCF I just do not see a lot of physicality in the AAC. Being rough and tough is not the only reason a team is superior it is talent. I have seen several AAC games and I believe that it does not have the same overall WBB talent as the ACC or the SEC. Yes UCONN is all that and several bags of chips but the AAC is not. For anyone to believe that UCONN is not the best team in WBB is stupid, so what is the problem what someone's opinion verses yours? It is what it is, UCONN is the lead dog no matter what conference they play in. By the way I am not asking you to buy any more from me than I am buying from you.

Why are you here? All you have done is criticize us, and now the whole SEC. Go back to where ever you come from and you guys can all tell each other how great you are.

This obsessive compulsion about telling us how bad we are, and how great you guys are is so wrong, and you know it.

I'm trying to be civil now.

UCONN fans are so arrogant, it literally makes me sick !!! Have some class and be humble about winning! Trust, Geno won't be at the helm forever and he's the only reason most recruits go to UCONN

Watched a little of the men's AMERICAN "ATHLETIC" CONFERENCE Tournament today in HARTFORD; looking at the sparse crowd, you would think you were watching a Ucon-Tulane women's basketball game in New Orleans.

I personally think UCONN 's day will come before Geno hangs up his coaching shoes. I do not see the top teams not coming up to Geno's standards as teams came up to Pat's standards. It is only a matter of time. I can't recall Tennessee fans being so arrogant as some UCONN fans have become, when we were the top dog. UCONN fans have to remember, enjoy it now because nothing is forever.

Did you see Boatwright hit the game winner against Cincy? #bleedblue

Doesn't this sound strangely familiar, remember in a time far, far away when recruits came to Tennessee because of Pat. This should be a reminder of how things can change in a heartbeat. My daughter was a high school basketball players in the 80's, had she been a 5 star, Pat had came calling everyone else could have saved their trip. Like Geno, except on a higher level, she completely changed the WBB game to what is today. She just left the game way too soon.

I guess the only argument is that the internet has made people a lot more arrogant. Keyboard muscles make it a lot worse. Plus the internet allows us to see fans from other parts of the country that never would have appeared in the 90s.

If you're a decent person when your team wins an NC you have some class and don't go all Bozo, if you are a jerk and your team wins you will act like a Bozo.

To come on our forum and pretend you want to talk basketball, but your real intention is to insult us and act like you invented basketball is bull. And the mods know it.

It was an obvious troll maneuver and why an adult would do it is baffling. Whatever possible pleasures he/she would get from those posts are beyond my comprehension.

The American "Athletic" Conference is a stellar conference, as exhibited by its women's basketball Attendance figures.

Only two schools averaged at least 2,000 fans per game:
* THE SCHOOL THAT STOLE MAYA MOORE 8,930
* USF 2,001 (just just just barely)
* Average attendance for Entire Conference: 1,850

The Southeastern Conference:
* Two schools averaged over 10,000 per game
* 11 of 14 schools averaged more than 2,000 per game
* Average conference home attendance 4,185

* 288,645 Total AAC Home Attendance
* 937,380 Total SEC Home Attendance

What are you if you belittle an opposing team, coach, their conference and even their fans? :clapping:

I guess I really do not understand, but why would Someone join a team's site to make fun of its fans and question their character? I am sure that all team sites say bad things about the competition. I would never get on UCONN's fan site and get into arguments with their fans. I could care less what they think of Tennessee or our coaching staff and players. All you mostly get on fan sites are opinions and guesses. The worth of a team and/or conference is decided on the floor no matter what fans think or say.:banghead2:

RT you have always been a decent poster....I'm not putting down UConn, you, or Geno. Your conference is not considered a power conference, but so what. The teams all try and give 100% effort. That is all any fan can want.

All of this team hatred is so stupid. We are nothing more than interested observers with keyboards.. If and when you guys win another NC, then good for you. Regardless of whomever wins, my life won't change one iota either way, and I don't suppose yours will either..

So true. The funny thing is, if Pat had coached uconn and Geno Tennessee, the fans of each team would be defending their head coach with the same voracity that they do now. Let's all step back, take a deep breath and end the arms race. It makes everyone involved look bad.

Why?
Did you watch Saturday night's game?
Are you watching the AAC Championship game later on (Sunday)?

I think it's great how in the same thread UConn fans are mocking the SEC style of play, they're thumping their chests over their men's thrilling 47-42 shootout win. With scores like that, I know I'll definitely tune in to the final!

Maybe if the UConn men or women ever left their home court to play a conference tournament game you could actually take it seriously....

I hate to take up for UConn but just a few posts above this there's a complaint the conference outside of UCONN doesn't draw fans. I'm guessing the conference tourney is in CT because it would draw nobody in any other area.

Quick check shows the men's tourney is moving to Orlando next season and may not leave.

Did the NCAA Just kill off the AAC today by putting only 2 teams in the NCAA Tournament?

What the hell does Ucon, and their fans, do? Their football program is pathetic, and all of the Power 5 conferences will just laugh at them when Ucon begs to join one of those real conferences.

The AAC is a basketball conference with the men only putting 2 teams in the NCAA Tournament.

Ucon, and their Tennessee comrades, feel free to guess how many AAC women's teams make the NCAA Tournament tomorrow.
