UConn vs Georgia Tech

Losing your best players to injury always hurts, but losing three top players within a week, and when one of those players you lose is the reigning NPOY, it's devastating. I'm going to refrain from gloating about them losing.
There will be opportunity for them to get players minutes in a trial by fire. Unfortunately for them, they will take some Ls against some top 10 teams and other decently good to good teams. Assuming the injured players return by midway through conference play, it might end up helping with player development despite the losses.

Surprised they lost, still have a lot of talent and thought they would play more motivated. They’ll be back with a vengeance at some point. In the interim, injured players aside, I’m happy for others to get the win!

Yep. If they do eventually get Bueckers, Fudd and Muhl back to full strength, they will have a much stronger bench for the post-season, and would likely make a deep run.

Yes. If they happen to lose a few more and drop to a 2-3 seed in the NCAA tournament, that’ll just fuel them even more.

Just like what's happened w the LVs. We were lucky that multiple players all started stepping up immediately. Which is why we're 8-0 and didn't take losses.

Luck was part of it but each player played their roles and that's thanks to the coaches in part. Those ladies love to see each other shine and it seems truly genuine.

That is not an excuse. Look at their team and compare that to most teams in top 10.... They're far better with 5stars players. U trying to tell me that GT team is a better players if college team can trade players and if ur a coach that u will take GT team over Uconn team?

You're right, luck might not be the correct term. It's actually kind of a miracle that so many players got better all at once. Especially in a program where almost no one has gotten better at all in a long time. Development busted out all over the place just when we needed it.

The difference is those other teams have not had to totally readjust everything in a week's time. With a couple of weeks of practice with the new main lineup, Connecticut will likely look a lot better than they did tonight. GT has practiced and played with a consistent roster for months now; CT has not. It IS different.

agreed...Beating them when they're down is not "beating" them.
I think when we play them they maye have 2-3 back by then

Ok Geno is great coach rite, when will he adjust? Be4 season starts Kellie lost Marta, after a game she lost best player and she made adjustments immediately. They have all Americans yet can't score past 50

Pretty sure if we lost w/o Rae that first game our fans would have felt Southern Illinois beat us and our other players should have stepped up because we’re the more talented, better coached team.

synchronicity, continuity, familiarity,,,,all come through learning speed and tendencies of teammates. and that comes by time on the floor with someone,,,You can't coach that.

You can coach "valuing the ball...valuing the possession",,,something Pat Summitt stressed.
Make turnovers matter!

Okay, with some new information I will offer a small criticism. Connecticut apparently didn't send any players to the post-game interviews. Now, I get that they were probably very upset, but I think it was disrespectful to Georgia Tech for them to fail to do the traditional interviews. I remember CT doing that another time after a loss, so I kinda think it might be Auriemma making that unfortunate call for the players. Yes, it sucks to lose and have to face reporters afterward, but it's also an important part of the growing process. God knows plenty of heartbroken players have faced the media after Connecticut beat them.

Auriemma should have said, "I know it hurts, but ya gotta do it. Every team that loses a game owes the winner of that game their comments."

Pat Summitt said it best:

Handle Success Like You Handle Failure
You can’t always control what happens, but you can control how you handle it.
Sometimes you learn more from losing than winning. Losing forces you to reexamine.
It’s harder to stay on top than it is to make the climb. Continue to seek new goals.
