UF on a downward spiral?

Muschamp never won the East, so that's a poor comparison.

We'll be playing a bunch of youngsters on defense next season, but I suspect our offense will be potent going forward as long as there's stability at the QB position.

Appleby played MUCH better than I expected, which is a testament to Mac's ability to coach up QBs...something Muschamp still doesn't have a clue about.

or maybe your starters played against our second team most of the first half?

big boys started ..then rested.

yes, you guys tried hard.

Alabama recruits at an entirely different level than Florida.

Hey daj, haven't seen you around much. What did your numbers say about the FL game and what do they say about these next three games? Thanks

We did have those years. The Dark Ages, known as the Muschamp years.

Next year Florida will take a step back on defense. Offense is going to have to carry the Gators more than in the past. At least until some of the players get Gainseville experience.

The numbers predicted a win over Florida and a loss to UGA.

They also predict a loss to A&M and Bama. That indicated a 9-3 season. Should we win/lose the games we are supposed to from here on out, that is 10-2 and a +1 season from Jones. Not bad.

I can't agree with this thread title.

I swear I remember seeing a thread like this back in 2005 before Urban was hired there. Tennessee had won 3 of it's last 4 meetings against Florida and it appeared that even though Florida had been stocked with talent, their current coach Zook was failing to make the grade and a new coach was about to be introduced.

There was talk during the preseason about how this offense will not work in the SEC (i.e. no fullback, too much finesse, etc) and that Florida will continue to fall further down the SEC ladder. We all know how that worked out.

Granted the times and circumstances have changed within the conference and at Florida. However, predicting the downfall of one of the better programs in the conference in the last 25 years seems to be a reach for me. I'll believe it when I see it.

So a return to the Spurrier era, pre Bob Stoops?
