Isn't Brent Brewer the same way haha. Funny how people jumped out to comment saying he's ineligible when we have a player that played in the minors as well

Also Kelley Washington did and isnt Dobbs a highly touted baseball player also ?

Who are their 3 losses? Not saying that's an impossibility, but Florida is very good at footballing, and your new QB theory was... wrong.

Florida working with a new QB in 2013 will probably get Them a 8-4 record. The SEC East will be won or lost in the Georgia-South Carolina game.

@jeffdriskel: Yes I signed with the Red Sox. Nothing changes. I am still a full time student athlete at UF, fully committed to playing football. #GoGators

Ricky Williams played pro baseball while at Texas. Pretty good summer job for 100K.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Florida quarterback Jeff Driskel could take a swing at another sport.

Driskel announced Thursday that he has signed with the Boston Red Sox, who selected him in the 29th round of the Major League Baseball draft last month, but said he is committed to finishing his college career with the Gators and pursing an NFL job.

Driskel says in a statement, "After my college football career is over I want to pursue a professional career in the NFL. If I ever decide I want to play baseball, I want to play with the Boston Red Sox who drafted me in the recent draft."

Driskel has thrown for 1,794 yards and 12 touchdowns in two seasons, one as a full-time starter. The junior from Orlando also set a single-game school record for rushing yards by a quarterback (177).

Driskel indicated on Twitter the day he was drafted that Boston's selection of him was a surprise. After once considering playing both sports in college, now he will be ineligible to compete in baseball. But that's probably fine with Gator Nation.

On his Twitter account Thursday, he attempted to put Florida fans at ease by saying, "Yes I signed with the Red Sox. Nothing changes. I am still a full time student athlete at UF, fully committed to playing football. #GoGators"

Roscoe Crosby out of Union SC did this a decade or so ago. Played football for Clemson, drafted by the KC Royals. Got injured...did squat.

What's Florida's backup like? I only saw Driskel play once or twice I think last season, he didn't seem that special..

Driskel's still playing college football.

Best to think of this more as "he made a plan B just in case he doesn't make it to the NFL"
