You need to shut up about you're "depth and talent shortages." No other team save perhaps Vandy has had comparable shortages over the last five years when matched against UT.

I really appreciate the rival fans that come on here, but save your depth crap for a fan base that isn't using walk ons and converted OLmen to bolster their front seven.

One more thing, and this goes for Florida, Texas, and all talent rich state schools, etc...

(disclaimer:this is not intended for some of our rival posters who tend to be polite, but for some national coverage I have been hearing):

You can not have Top 5 recruiting classes EVERY YEAR for 5-7 years and then complain about rebuilding. That means your evaluation and player development has SUCKED. Think about Texas during Colt McCoy's Jr. and Sr. seasons: if he had not been on those teams, they would have been atrocious (8-4 ish). Then last year, without him, they were. Same with Tebow at Florida. And no excuses, your programs are bringing tremendous talent in every year, so what's happening: poor coaching, the same thing that bit us a few years back. Let me also say, Urban was not a terrible coach, but it was obvious he was burn out last year. We were just awful. I believe (hope) that good coaching and development can get us out of our hole. Can't wait for the season to start!

Why does this piss you off? You think 8-5 is "back on top" or the kid shouldn't be saying it for some reason? Florida isn't on top right now, so I don't see what was inaccurate in what he said.

Florida has the same goals as UT, and that's to win a title. if the staff is telling him "come here and help us get back to that level" I don't see the issue.

You realize that we have been doing that on our DL, right? We had to debate whether we wanted to move a few OL to the DL. Leon Orr being one of them..........it's ok to admit that other teams, yes even UF, have depth issues too. It's like you see your depth issues and find it impossible to say other schools have issues too because "they aren't as bad as UT's".

I'll remember this same argument when you say how you have to get the next stud WR that UF is also going after, when we don't have one kid in our top 5 WR who would start for UT right now.

You guys are not in as bad of shape as you think and neither is UF.

So...OL issues, a shaky QB, no true pro-style kind of RB on the roster and no threats at WR either?

Because its down right laughable. You went 9-4 after your 06 NC run. Then from 08-09 you went 26-2 winning the SECE twice and another NC to boot. Please explain to me why recruits would judge one 8-5 season as a sign that Florida has really dropped off.

The difference is you are only one season removed from winning the SECE...and 2 seasons removed from a NC...and 4 seasons removed from the previous NC...

We haven't won the SECE in 4 years....and we backed our way into that one....and we haven't won the SEC in over 10 years...

I guess "getting back on top" has a differant meaning to UF fans than it does to UT....it just seems a little bit spoiled for UF fans to to paint such a bleak picture for themselves

Great post. UF isn't literally at the top right now. But the recent history for UF is 10x better than UT's. I don't see how you can argue this point.

UF should not have QB issues this year. Brantley with Driskell backing him up and Weis as an OC. There shouldn't be any issues. The offense as a whole maybe, but not so much the QB position.

Correct me if im wrong, but wasn't Leon Orr a DT from the get go?

Kinda hard to move someone from offense to defense if they were always on defense.

Are you telling me that all those top 5 classes the past several years have resulted in a lack of talent for the Gators? 2007 - 1st. 2008 -3rd 2009 - 11th. 2010 - 2nd. 2011- 12th* Yeah, the Gators don't have any talent and are in serious rebuilding mode...

* According to Rivals.

Please...............8-5 is recent success? we lost last year to Mississippi State..........at home.........on homecoming.

We go to FSU and get boatraced. We go to Alabama and get embarassed on national TV.

We are a shell of what we were 3 years ago. Even you guys have to admit that.
