UGA a 22 point favor over UF

My question to @lawgator1 & @Lawrence Wright is if you had to have it one way to spring this upset. Which coaching strategy would you say it would take? The Billy Napier going Mad Hatter going 4th down over and over in typical punt situations like he did against Tennessee? Or the conservative approach and punt as often as possible and try and do the field postion game and hope Stetson Bennett gives you the break you need eventually?

The latter. We aren't consistent enough to make going for it on 4th a sustainable approach.

Fact is its an SEC game, UF does have SOME talent. If UGA has a really bad game and UF makes some big plays, it can be a contest.

Probably not. But not impossible.

I think the idea of constantly going for it on 4th down (in your own territory) is coaching malpractice. Once or twice per season, if you see mismatches in the defense, is good coaching (maybe).

Napier gambled and lost. Kelly knew it was a loser and did it anyway.
Napier>Kelly

Punt the ball. Let your defense stop the (mostly) effective offense. Get a win in field position. There is a reason this is how you play the game.

I’m very much hoping the Gators win (hurts to even say it). Give the dawgs a loss and likely keep gameday and a lot of hype out of it. I want UGA a bit deflated.

and given the opportunity to throw a knockout punch put everything behind it and hope it lands.

Would not be surprised to see UF beat UGA. Much is being made of UT overlooking UK on the way to UGA. But UGA overlooking UF may be an even greater possibility. UF is has more than enough talent to take UGA's O away from them... in the right places. UF's LB's may be the best match in the SEC to UGA's TE's.

UF just needs AR to play well. Tall order I know... but to me he's the variable.

I don’t keep up with AR but someone told me he had been a lot better in recent games. I could go look it up, but I’m too lazy atm.

I think they would come in angry after that, at home, in front of a sold out crowd, Top 2 opponent. UGA losing to UF wouldnt keep them out of the SEC Championshio game or the playoffs if they won out.

I want it to be a hard fought fools gold win for UGA where the game was a lot closer than the final score. Bring them in tired, and inflated. We jump out to a quick start, deflating them and with low energy they cant get back in.

No way will UGA ever overlook UF.

Seems a might high. But our defense is pretty bad and the offense too erratic.

Still, not a good betting game imo.
I don't bet, but if I did I would bet UF and the points. I think it is closer than that just out of pride.

I think BillNap's boys are very capable of nipping Jawja, bringing them down a peg or two.

Florida largely goes as Richardson goes. If, by some miracle, he goes off in this game it could be close. Not sure Florida’s defense can stop Georgia, but sometimes a good offense is the best defense. Rivalry games like this, with good athletes on both sides, is usually close.
