UGA Fan Crying on the Radio

It seems like UGA is in a Phil Fulmer situation. Richt is in his 12th year and has gone 118–40 (.747) while taking his team to back to back SEC Championship games....damn near beating Bama last year. They are the kings of underachieving with the talent they have, but I'm not sure who they'd bring in to replace him. They also don't want to be short-sided like we were and pull the plug without having a top notch replacement lined up.

Yep: the radio guy known as "cattlemen" called richt "handsome fulmer" years ago.
I though that was funny!

I heard this driving back into Atlanta after the game. This should go in the "Girls of UGA" thread

I'm amazed at how some don't do a quick check if a thread already exists, especially when it's right there at the top of the list.

Is anyone else feeling bad for the Dawgs?

I know they are a hated rival, but it just doesn't seem fair that nothing ever works out for them. They've had several 1 or 2 loss seasons in which they were clearly playing the best football in the nation at the end of the year, but they never get the breaks needed to get in the national title game. LSU got to play for it in 07 after losing to Kentucky and Arkansas; we lost to Auburn in 06 and Ole Miss in 08; Bama lost to LSU and got the rematch in 2011; Bama lost to TAMU in 2012; LSU lost to us at home in 2003....it worked out in the end for all these teams. Meanwhile, UGA was clearly the best team at the end of 2007 and would have drilled Ohio State, but they couldn't get in the game. Same could be said for 2002 when, in hindsight, they would have probably beaten either Miami or Ohio St. It just doesn't seem right that the likes of David Green, David Pollack, Matt Stafford, Knowshon Moreno, and now apparently Aaron Murray will never get to experience a national title when they worked so hard to put themselves on that elite level. The SEC has reeled off 7 straight titles and you're telling me the Dawgs couldn't get into one of those? Mark Richt's program makes a lot more sense if you mentally award them titles for 2002 and 2007 - he would be a 2 time champion coach and his record would seem more logical.

Keep your heads up, Dawgs. Beat South Carolina this weekend, regain your momentum, and let's have ourselves a war for the ages in Jacksonville.

Short-sided? As in short-sighted? Or are we talking Pythagorean theorem here?

I'd like to think that Dawg fan was just trolling, but the truth is, he's a giant loser.

For a grown man to get that into a game played by a bunch of kids is pathetic.

If the Gamecock Radio Network doesn't begin every one of their broadcasts during the next week with "HOW ARE WE SUPPOSED TO GO BEAT SOUTH CAROLINA NOW?!?!" then someone isn't doing his job.

I was pulling for Georgia big time as I always do all the other SEC teams. I was telling the Aggie fans on their board when you analyze the matchups between Clemson and Georgia there was one big factor that would come into play to decide the game if Georgia did not, by far, have much more elite talent. Of course, the Dawgs didn't and the coaching factor came into play. The Georgia players have to win the game by themselves. They are not coached up and if the original scheme isn't working the staff can not make adjustments to overcome the opposition. The Dawg fans get mad when you tell them this but they have Phillip Fulmer walking the sidelines. They do. You cannot point to even one single game and say the coaching pulled the game out of the bag. You can say that with Spurrier but never with Fulmer or Richt.
