Its pretty dang telling that you have to go back 8 seasons now to find a comparison.... That was the same year we broke the streak against Florida, we definitely had some voodoo going for us that season.

This year it may not have been a pro-Bama thing, for the UT game, but there was definitely some mega-millions type luck with the home teams Tennessee played against. 1 live ball penalty in 3 games. and the one penalty came early in the first quarter of the first game. Pretty sure it continued to the 4th quarter of the 4th game. (2 in 4) that's way too much coincidence to ignore. 14 quarters on the road without a live ball penalty called on the home team. thats too much coincidence to ignore.

I could easily be wrong but I am pretty sure the missed call I am thinking of came on Bama's first score. hard to argue that isn't a change of momentum play with a direct impact on the game.

If it's the one I'm thinking of, it was Bama's second TD of the game (the 2nd play of the 2nd half). It would have taken a TD off the board, but it was 1st and 10. Given the way UT's defense played in the second half, do you feel confident that Bama wouldn't have scored anyway?

With how one-sided the game was officiated, in no world was UT winning that game. If the other team is allowed to hold anytime they want without fear of it getting called of course the defense is going to look bad. I question how much of it was bad defense vice how much of it was they just weren't being allowed to play the way Bama was.

agreed with the above. there is a reason our defensive line disappeared, best part of our D. choke holds are pretty good at neutralizing our defensive ends who were beating your O-line to that point.

there is a reason a reporter asked Heupel how he felt about you guys playing Mortal Combat while we could only play two hand touch.

Just for fun I’ll sometimes ask an OSU fan I know if he thinks that hit on Marvin Harrison Jr. should have be targeting. And I’ll probably ask the one Georgia fan I know if he thinks that was a catch on 4th down…

Soon Bama will learn what it’s like for another team to get all the calls on the field. Texas will be the money team in the conference soon.

If the holding was called on that play, then it would have been 1st and 25ish given where the holding would have been called.

Also, it's harder to play defense when your DL is getting choke holded all game.

Going to be interesting when Texas joins. Texas has ruined every conference it has ever been in previously by acting like pre-madonnas* and they can sling money around Bama doesn't have.
Certainly will be fun to watch the politics/officiating between those two. I don't think Texas would take too kindly to the red-headed stepchild treatment the rest of the conference gets.

Also, my favorite stat.... Alabama is 0-1 this year against top 25 teams without SEC referees.

Forgot to quote @hUTch2002

It’s possible that there is legitimacy to them picking Bama. My biggest issue is that the committee isn’t consistent. In the past the committee has chosen Cincinnati and TCU only for them to get embarrassed. Sure TCU did win against Michigan, but you get my meaning. And yes circumstances are different every year but I think leaving out FSU shows blatant inconsistency.

And yes, if your biggest rule is to get the 4 best teams then GA should be in. At the very least, if Bama is ranked at 4 bc they are better than FSU, then why is FSU ranked higher than GA? Again, very inconsistent!

But my honest opinion is that the way the circumstances are this season, It was right to leave GA out, I hate it but it makes sense. Could GA have won if it got in? Absolutely very possible, but we didn’t win the SEC.

And I’ve no love for FSU, but they absolutely got hosed. I feel very bad for the Seminole players. It’s not a beauty contest, they win a P5 conference and are 13-0. I think it’s a travesty that an injury kept them out and everyone seems ok with it. Well not everyone, but many in the mainstream are praising the committee for making this decision. It just doesn’t fit with how young athletes should be taught to play the game. I was always taught that fair sportsmanship was the most important thing when competing. To me the committee looks like it was influenced at best by dollar signs and their decision certainly doesn’t look fair.
And yet they still showed over 3 games without Travis how strong they were by overcoming the injury and still winning the last 2 games and the ACC game. The Travis loss agouldn't have been a penalty, but rather a boost to a higher ranking that they were good enough to squeeze out late season wins without him. also is a compliment to the coaching staff that kept the players on track.
