UGA OC Hire

Great hire. Coached some very talented QBs. Played under Spurrier. OC in the NFL. Great fit at UGA with a pro-style, run heavy offense. They will be formidable.

What? All he did was ruin some very talented quarterbacks.

OC in the NFL but the rams O was nothing special. Hope he lives up to rams O standards.

At the same time, though, I've got to admit it is hard to have a good offense when you're team's constantly having to play a 3rd string QB.

If ya'll don't think having good personal skills is a must for a successful college football head coach, I don't know what to tell you but many of them are nothing more than a good used car salesman.

We all know that's true. And it's also true one the NFL. They're all Type A personalities that relate well to other people and are good leaders.

Both. Marty was a very good NFL linebacker atleast. He was a defensive guy. Brian just sucks! He's known for ruining QBs hence Sanchez.

He was also qb coach when San diego decided to trade Drew Bree's.

Why would an NFL OC take a step down to become a college OC, even if he's not been successful with the Rams, for various reasons? A bit odd, especially since he doesn't appear that the Rams were going to sack him (though maybe that was in the cards--hard to know for sure). He will bring a certain amount of sophistication to the georgia attack, but you can't devise a college offense quite like an NFL offense; make it too complex and the young guys will get confused and make mistakes. That's the thing in college--the guys make a lot of mistakes.

The funniest part is it's a very bad NFL offense.

Last name alone doesn't scream great hire. I'll wait to see what he actually does. As an NFL OC, he was surrounded by greater talent than what he'll have at UGA, and he produced mediocre results. Maybe he'll be better at the college level, or maybe he'll just remain mediocre. I just don't see it as a homerun hire.

Not one person said otherwise. We just disagree with your silly notion that coaches in the NFL are only there because they dont have the personalities to coach in college, which is outright retarded.

Don't know how he'll turn out, but I have to say that this isn't a hire that particularly scares me much as a Tennessee fan. Doesn't seem like he's had much success in the NFL. Moreover, NFL Offensive Coordinators don't necessarily have the best track record switching over to the college game.

I don't recall ever saying that they were only there because they have no personal skills but carry on with your idiocy

Yeah I think the best you could say is mediocre OC with those numbers in front of you. He may translate better to college but just because you're a good OC in the NFL doesn't mean you will be successful in college IE Weiss. IDK how anyone can argue Schottie is a good OC and to boot he is kind of an entitled dick according to some that have played under him.
