UGA over Mizzou's affect on UT

I did not say myself nor did I say this thread. I said OTHERS have called you out for it in OTHER threads, myself included, in OTHER threads at OTHER times.

Ok, well I've turned a new leaf, so why not move on?

If I haven't insulted you, then why must you turn this completely educational discussion we were having into a pissing contest and petty little insults towards me?

I have no use for people who live off of stats and computer algorithms and display a complete lack of knowledge and common sense understanding for the game itself.

What does the understanding of the game have to do with deciding who's in and out of the tournament?

That's not how it's decided, surely you realize that no? The committee isn't made up of a bunch of former high level players and coaches, you know that right?

And most of what they use is computer number and algorithms.

The SEC is so pathetically, unpredictable this year. Other than everyone can win at home, thats the only constant. We blow y'all out and lose to Mizzou then we see what happens tonight. Outside of UF, away wins are hard to come by and even they've been tested lately.

yep road wins are hard.. uga beat Missouri in their house in overtime and destroyed Missouri in Athens. heck winning at auburn is tough.. they gave florida all they could handle. it's going to be quite an interesting end to the season in the SEC..

Yes BTO I understand the committee is made up of AD's and Commissioners. That's on less thing you need to educate me on. I say have no use for you because you present yourself as the guru of basketball in here yet you seem to lack an understanding of basic principles. My dislike for you has nothing to do with how the tourney field is selected.

In this discussion my understanding of the numbers and algorithms is much more important than that of X's and O's.

I'm sorry if you don't like that, but it's the truth.

I know this is a vol's board, but since you have a good handle on rpis and the ncaa tourney let me ask you this.. UGA has 4 bad losses.. if UGA finds a way to win out (not saying they will, but using that as a what if) other than winning the sec tourney can we get into the ncaa tourney with just 2 wins in the sec tourney? we would have an rpi of about 63 to 64 if we win out heading into the sec tourney.. thanks .

IMO no. But I'd love to see the butt sniffers in Georgia get a few more years of that coach with the game presence of a home-economics teach.

Mark Fox has done a great job this year and does a very good job coaching from the bench. he isn't perfect, but no coach is. He can coach our guys up as well. His biggest issue is recruiting, but he has shown he can do pretty much everything else. Stick to calling us Dawg fans or UGA fans.. the other crap is childish.

Well for one, it's a discussion board. So what you're calling "attacking" I see as rebuttal. I mean if someone posts something he thinks is false, you would rather him just ignore it?

Second, like I said, it takes more than one and it appears one other in particular seems to be rather eager to tango with him. So I'm not sure why he's not called out for the same thing, other than BTO has been labeled a Martin apologist.

Right. If you go back to page 1 said poster quotes me and responds to me, so sorry OB but I didn't start this one :hi:

I believe they would yea. Something you gotta keep in mind is that in that scenario you would be the 3 seed with a double bye. So saying you win 2 likely means you beat Kentucky and are playing Florida for the championship.

But yea, if you guys win out, and 2sect wins, I think you could be dancing for sure.

On RPI forecast you can go to Georgia's page and click with conference tournament, that gives you RPI projections for every scenario through conference tourney.

Who knows?

I know the sec schedules are not balanced, but if mizzou is still considered in (as an example), it's a joke.

You can not lose to bama, be swept by Georgia, finish 3 games behind Georgia in the sec standings and get a bid.

I guess I'm too old school, but conference standings matter to me.

I value the overall body of work, sure. But, you don't get in (IMO) because of 1 win that occurred 3 months ago. That doesn't fly with me.

I know if I am a committee member, beating virginia is great. in mizzou's case beating Ucla is great. But, it doesn't nullify being so very mediocre in a very mediocre league.

I think conference standings matter as well. Therefore, since we finished higher in the conference last year and did not make it how can we make it now? There are too many bad losses to overlook. Losses to Fla and Ky don't hurt. There are really no other teams on the league we should have lost to but road losses do happen. This team gives me zero confidence it can beat anybody and 100% it can lose to anyone. I am amazed anyone considers this an NCAA team. I for one don't want to be embarrassed by being in the tournament. It is bad enough losing to Tam twice. How bad would it be to lose to a small directional school in front of the whole world. This team has worn me out and I am ready for a change in coaching, summer and fall football.
