UGA Postgame Thoughts

It is hard not to be pissed right now. We had it. We lost it. There are no moral victories. This one hurts. But we did grow up and learn a lot about who we are:

1. We took the No. 12 team, in their own home, to the wire and gave them all they could handle.

2. Worley is the player of the game. Without question, the leader of this team and a complete gamer. If you ever doubt him, just go ahead and punch yourself in the junk. You deserve it.

3. Hurd is a beast. Played extremely well for a freshman in a hostile environment behind a horrible O-Line. First freshman to put up those numbers since Jamal Lewis.

4. We got too conservative after going up 10 quickly. You can't ever do that and hope to win. You have to play to win, not play NOT to lose.

5. When you get turnovers you have to convert points. Extremely frustrating to get the turnovers and then not score anything.

6. You can't turn the ball over - especially when you are driving for points. The Peterman fumble was HUGE. Cost us at least 3. The other turnover in the endzone was just as significant - cost 7 points.

7. Peterman will never be the starter at UT. Not all his fault, the O-Line didn't help him at all, but Worley can make it work and he can't.

8. Having Worley come back into the game and ball out was amazing. So proud of the effort and leadership.

9. Defense is legit. Hard to blame them for the loss - Gurley had over 200 yards and had a career high - that never feels good. But the D was worn down. If UT could have put some points on the board during the 3rd quarter it would have been a different game.

10. Coaching was good. I thought the gameplan was good. Execution at times was not good, but that is how it goes. Lots of breaks that didn't go our way that could have turned the game. We get one of the two fumbles put on the ground by UGA. We get the on side kick. Worley doesn't go out. Peterman doesn't fumble and we kick a FG. Play calling was great in Q1 and Q4. Middle of the game was way too limited.

Florida is up next. I believe we will win.

The top 3 things that really hurt us today were. Peterman- his whole performance, with Worley in the game we win. those 3 drives our D gave up nothing. The fumble in the endzone really hurt, freshman mistake. It looks like a big hole opened up in the middle and Hurd got a little excited. And lastly no Von. He's got the ability to turn short quick passes into big gains. Takes a lot of pressure off the oline and qb.

It was a winnable game because George's second touchdown wasn't much of a touchdown in the first place. I just thought that was a bad call and that could have gave us the win today. Ride along with great coaching.

I did not see the game but my question is why not put Dobbs in after Worley got injured so that you have a running threat at qb?

Thought we handcuffed Worley after going up 10. Took the ball out of his hands when he is our best option for winning.

Tough loss, but I love this teams attitude. This game was a matchup nightmare for our defense, but we took them to the wire in their house. The difference in the game was self inflicted turnovers. Worley showed tremendous grit and leadership again today, Hurd ran hard, the D played tough just a little outmanned. Time to fix the mistakes and beat the Gators. GBO

When TKjr got that pick in Georgia territory, we really needed to convert that into points. Hutson Mason was pathetic as a passer, we just didn't convert his mistakes into points

Gurley got his. Which was expected. Hes that good.

We got Mason to throw it to us a couple times and he never really was a threat which gave us more than one chance to steal one.

We just didnt take it.

Gurley had a career day but touched the ball more than he had in any other game through his career. Their best player had his best game ever and it still wouldn't have been enough if Worley doesn't go out for a while.

After rewatching the game, the run blocking was decent on most plays. The blitz pick up is where the line is struggling, but it will come. All of these are learning opportunities. It is apparent that the coaches are great at teaching.

I am ready to kick some jort wearing lizards in the balls.
