Much higher scoring game than I originally had predicted. UGA is on the way down. Wonder if there is a chance Richt gets replaced before season's end.

It's as if Richt watching that clock dwindle down is like him watching the clock run out on his tenure. (Poetic, I know :))
He had that look on his face that Fulmer had during those tough losses at the end. It's hard to watch.

Rejoice in your success. No matter how long-lived it might be.

Don't get me wrong, I am happy we beat Georgia. That's a different team we played tonight than what played in Atlanta last weekend. Anytime you can win in Athens is a good time.

With that being said, it just aggravates me watching us play so badly. I felt Spurrier got out-coached. He tried to force the run, and it almost cost us the game. Ellis Johnson didn't make adjustments to UGA's short passing game.

At any rate, good win. We're 2-0. Don't know how long the loss column will remain empty, but I will take it for now. Go Cocks!

I thought the same thing. It was a half-smirk
half-grimace.

Smack or not, the truth hurts. :)
Fact: SC is overrated.
Fact: SC will lose five games.
Fact: UT will wallop SC.

We're lucky as hell. Our luck will run out.

Darth, why are you so down on the Gamecocks? Sure, we definitely haven't played as well as we hoped in the first two games, but we are 2-0 with some very winnable games on the schedule for the next couple of weeks.

When it came down to crunch time in the 4th quarter last night, Lattimore put the team on his back with big carries in the 80 yard TD drive. Then he got the 1st down at the end to put the game on ice. Big time players make big time plays in big time games. We saw this played out last night by Lattimore, Jeffery, Ingram, Allen and Clowney. Sure, we'd like to march up and down the field on offense (like we did in Athens in 2009 and still lost....the similarities between these two games are pretty amazing), but pick-6's, fake punt scores, and fumble returns for TD's are all still worth 6 points.

I won't refute that we may be a little overrated, but lose 5 games? UT definitely looks good in the first two games, but I'm not ready to say they will "wallop" us.

Not trying to call you out here. Just another Gamecock fan saying it's not time to hit the panic button.

I MAY have overreacted a little bit. :) I was just aggravated with our sloppy play last night.

We found a way to win an SEC game on the road in a hostile environment. The UT game still scares me. Our secondary has issues.

I gotcha. I was scared to death myself last night. That 4th quarter was insane. You are right, we definitely need to make some serious adjustments in the secondary.

These first two games have exactly been cupcakes, so it will be nice to come home and hopefully be able to work out some of these problems over the next two games. Although I will say that the triple-option that Navy will bring to town this week could make for an interesting game.

I would feel a lot better if we could fix our secondary. We SHOULD be able to defend the pass well enough against Navy. That triple option scares me, though.
