So... we're a 14.5 favorite in the first lines to come out. So wadda you folks think? Yea, or Nay?
In no uncertain terms, we need to whip their ass definitively! We are at a point in the season where style points DO matter! Whatever happens in Athens, will happen. But in the meantime we need to make examples of KY, Miss St, UTEP, and Vandy!

Pull and upset win in Athens and style points against teams like Kentucky won't matter.

They benched their QB against Auburn. Backup is a running QB. The defense should dominate and the offense won't need much to win the game.

I think we win against UK, MSU and UTEP comfortably, fall short in Athens and so it will all come down to taking care of business against a pesky Vandy team as to whether we get in the playoffs, and we do.

I’m glad we get Vandy late. Gives our young QB time to develop and I imagine our depth is better than Vandy’s, which is a bigger factor late in the season

With our offensive showing, Kentucky and the points is what I would take. I said the same for the FL game and it paid well. I just don’t have faith in multi possession wins until Nico can show us something. Heup has shown all year he’s more than happy getting up 7 points and going ultra conservative with our defense.

Where’s your screenshot of your Florida game bet?

This time of the year when teams are trending and UK is trending down. That is a bad thing for a basketball school and the fans check out and just talking Basketball. It bleeds over to the team and enough of players check out thinking where they might can transfer etc... This might be closer than 2 TDs but the trend is showing blowout.
Right. Uk always starts with a bang, then wilts. Vols all rested up and ready to finish the season. Uk players trying not to get hurt and mess up their options.

with where this team could be. and where it wants to go, beating this KY team by 14.5 points would be a maddening disappointment.

The AP and Coaches polls, once again, have become a popularity contest by which Texas, Alabama, and Notre Dame are unapologetically guaranteed spots for playing really meh football.

Argument could be made that Tennessee should have scheduled a better schools than Akron, UTEP, and other cupcake. Argument could also be made that we beat our two best rivals.

Are other schools held to same standard as Tennessee for winning pretty? Why are our loss (losses) any worse than say Bama's, or Tamu, LSU? We scheduled a top 25 team OOC who ended up not being very good. Meanwhile, ND?

The answer those questions, I argue we take it back to the CPU. I have little faith that a corrupt, biased, media riddled organization such as CFB and its self interested entities will allow a two loss TN team into playoffs.

I could be wrong. And I will eat crow. But, there is no reason why a TN team at 10-2, or 11-1 should even be questioned for a playoff spot.

Looking around CFB there is Oregon, Georgia, OSU, and maybe, maybe Texas. That's it! Tamu and LSU are playing good football. But they have same issue everyone else has, ****** QB play and defenses that are suspect. There are only a few good teams, and even fewer great teams in 2024.

So then, how can anyone. Anyone make any cogent, logical argument that TN isnt a playoff team? Answer is rhetorical.

I suspect the offense the rest of the season will consist of heavy doses of Sampson with Nico and Bishop runs occasionally. The pass game will be limited to the sideline bubble screens and frequent deep shots.

Kentucky is

- 119th in total offense.
- 103rd in sacks allowed
- 114th in thrown INTs
- 85th in rushing offense
- 124th in passing offense
- Have not scored 20 points in an sec game

We should get short fields all game which should pump our scoring up. Sampson will eat and Nico will take some shots. I think coming off the buy the timing will be better as I am sure that was worked on.

We can't count on that though. An upset against GA would be awesome, but let's be pragmatic here. The more likely scenario is us losing to GA and winning the rest of our games. It's going to matter how we look, winning the rest of those games and, maybe even more important, how we look losing to GA.

I think we can meet the 14.5 but I am not expecting a huge blowout. I think UK will struggle to score more than 1 TD against Tennessee but Tennessee isn't going to go off on Kentucky unless they have given up.

If Tennessee does score a lot of points, it will be because Dylan Sampson has a field day on them.

Because of Arkansas, I'm afraid an upset win against the Bulldogs is the Vols last chance of making it into the playoffs. On the bright side, a win against GA would probably make the Vandy game meaningless

No way I touch this game. Kentucky’s defense is putrid but I want to see more out of Nico before I take a spread like that. If he’s on we beat the piss out of them, if not this can be a tighter game than it should be.

The fact that so many of you don’t think we can cover against this sorry UK team is very concerning. We should easily beat this team by at least 21. If we don’t and it’s a close game, then we have SERIOUS issues on the offensive side of the ball.

If Nico cannot throw for over 200 yards and 2+ TDs, then it’s time to seriously question his abilities.

Probably be more like Nico has one passing and one running td. Sampson with a pair of tds. A field goal kick and that will make 31 points.
